HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/10/1968 Council Minutes 87 Jan. 10, 1968 The Fairfax To CIOUncil met in regular, session Jan. 10, 1968 with the following members present- Bett usting Robert Strang, Absent were Stallman and Buresh H, Shakespeare The minutes of the Dec, 13 meeting wave approved. The Treasurers report showing a balance of $16,033.51 was approved. Xotion by Shkkesp:eare, second by Austin t conduct regular monthly meetings of the council on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PH married. Mayor appointed Harold Shakespeare as mayor pro test and William L. Serbousek of the Linn Co. Sheriff dept. as town Xarxhall without compensation. Notion by Austin and second by Strang carried to approve this appointment. Xotion by Shakespeare and second by Strang to make the following appointments carried: D. C. Neuhaus, for clerk, with compensation of $500.00 per yr. Evelyn Carver, to treasurer, It 120,00 Warren Ackley, town attorney, to be paid according to services rendered. Notion by Austin and seconde, by Shakespeare carried to pay Russell Carver $120.00 per year as fire station custo' dian and to pay Ronald Stallman $3.0,0 per meeting attended as civil defense representative plus mileage. Fairfax State Savings Bank was named official depository of Town Funds in an amount not to exceed $10010010,00. as per motion by Shakespeare and second by Strang being carried. Clerk reported that all duly elected councilmen and the mayor had qualified as required for their respective terms of office from Jan. 19 1968 to Dec. 31.9 1969. The necessary bonds of Mayor, Mayor pro tem, Clerk and Treasurer are on file . if Mayor appointed Stallmant Buresh and Strang to the street & Alley Committee. On motion by Austin and second by Strang, it was agreed to pay the certified water and wastewater treatment operators, who are William L. Serbousek and Rudolph Nemec, respectivelyg a fee of $60.00 per year for their responsibility, on town reports. The audit report by ex councilman. John Vondra of the Nayor 's Docket for 1967 was submitted, It showed total fines to be turned in to the town general fund of $597.00. The audit of the clerks receipts to the Mayor and the general fund rr-cords indicated that $607.00 had been deposited, and hence a refund of $10.00 approved as a refund for the overpaymant by the Kay or. Mayor announced a county Fire mans meeting at Walker on Jan. 13 that could be attended by anyone interested in a fire district..
