Regulzr meeting of the own Council held Feb. 14 at 7:00 Psi
with all councilmen present,

The treasurers report as of Feb. 1, 1968 was Pl-ove showing a
balance on hand of $149563.76.
Warrants no. 548 thru 563 were read and a p r uved.
Clerk again reminded to send the necessary correspondence to the
State Dept. of NeAlth in regard to flouridation of the town system.
Clerk repotted than the ® & N. W. had requested a change in the
.ease covering the dike site to a five year basis , payable $50.00
inadvance, rather than the annual fee of $10,00. Said amendment
was approved on motion, secondt and roll call voted (lease " 3d )
In accordance Ath bid notices sent for tree removal to the following

It was agreed that the time element on starting this project was most
important, so the Hay or was instructed t ec with the two IoTa
bidders to see who could start Ily firstg and if there was a substantial
time difference , the bid should go to the ones that ooul.d start first.
The Hayor was therefore authorized to enter the contract that best
accemodated our needs.
James H. Kurtz visited with the council, in regard to the o5sib lity
of constructingg owning and operating a mobile hoes part can the Land
nee by him in the north part of Own. Many facets of this operatior$
was discussed in light of requirements bps the State of Iowa and also
by other municipalities. Kurtz emphasized that he would adhere to any
requirements reasonably established i the form of are ordinance by the
I` mn of Fairfax, and stressed that these regulations be strict,t, so that
this park and any other that may exist in the future , would be properly
operated so as to be an asset tot he community. Some engineering and
planning work was reported by Kurtz. Council instructed hIr to contact
the Planning & Zoning commissi& so that they could take this under
advisement and report back to the council for final determination in the
year future® It was reminded that this property is already zoned
A discussion pertaining to ap-ointments to time Planning & Uning
Commission as bad, and the following appointments were made, the
same to be effective immediately if the parties would accept,
Ronald Sta . .man, to expire
Franklin A Karal, to expire
