Fairfax Town Council met in regular session Oct. 9, 1968 at
7 :00 PH All. councilmen present.
Minutes of the Sept. 27 and Sept . 11 meetings approved.
Treasurers report approved, sh oiqing a bal,anca of $252,287.93.
Bills represented by the following warrants approved,.
regular funds #648 thru 653
water dept. # 525 thru 530
sewer dept. # 285 thru288
Xotion by Strang,, seconded by Stall an to apprave, a Class C!
Liquor permit for Dale E. Benesh if and when he presents the
proper bond & liability insurance papers. Approved on roll all
vote unanimously.
Discussion on the status of the Fire Dept. Van. Indications
ate that the unit, is not in the condition expected and furthter
inquiry of the XX Fire Chief should be made.
Bids on a new -truck received as follows:
Fordtown 2 18'1 .00 withoul box
Rapids Chevrolet 2 ,138.13 without box
International, CR 3, 062.18 with box
No action 'taken on these bids at this time. Price of an independent
box is to be obtained.
Clerk instructed to contact the Town hi Trustees in regard to
our present status on improved fire facilities.
It was unanimously considered that the Fairfax Fire Department
should not attempt to provide fire protection to the Cedar
Terrace 'Nobile Home Park on Highway 30 at the west edge of
Cedar Rapids.
Moved by Strang, seconded by Karal to atuend the annual maintenance
con+ract with Watertower Repair to read $351.00 per year rather
than the $293. 00 as previously written.
