Neuhaus reported on the visit that Mr. Meyers from the Cedar Rapids traffic department made and the investigation of needed traffic control at the intersections of Main Street with Park and Reynolds. It After receiving a briefing on the general traffic pattern in the area, and observing what traffic the residential area surrounding it would generally develop, it was theopinion of Mr Meyers that no control would be needed at the Main & Reynolds corner. - Based on his observations, he further would not install any stop signs for Park St. traffic due to the nature of the vehicles travelling to the elevator. if any control were to be used at this intersection,, he would recommend that Maim St® traffic be stopped, making Park a thru street at that point. In this particular situation, he thought it best to leave the intersection free of any control unless speeding was or becomes a problem on Main Street at that paint. Cogncil considered this recommendation and decided that even though they tentatively planned on some control at this area at a previous meeting, they would no go along with Meyers recommendation.
