The regular meetinf of the Fairfax Town council held April 9
with all councilmen present except Stall n®
The minutes of the March 12 meeting were read and approved.
Treasurers report approved, showing valance of $230933®57
Warrants approved as follows:
General 738 thru 751
Water 563 - 564
Suer 313 thru 315
This being the date and time for the public hearing on the
resolution to adopt the Municipal Co e, the Mayor called for
any objectors. None were present, and the clerk reported that
no objections had been filed in writing,.
Therefore, Councilmen Shakespeare moved and Karal seconded
a motion to adopt the 1969 Municipal Code of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa, Said motion unanimously passed, a copy of said resolution
attached to and became a part of these minutes.
An Ordinance, Chapter 1, was introduced and read entitled
'SAM ORDINANCE ADOPTING A -MUNICIPAL CODE FOR THE TONN OF FAIRF,A ,
IOWA". On motion by Strang, and seconded by Austin, it was
unanimously approved to adopt said ordinance on roll call vote.
Clerk instructed to file a copy of the Code with the Iowa State
Law Library® Copies of the Code will be made available to
anyone interested, for the purchase price of $70.009 the actual
cost of same to the Town.
Mayor announced that there would be a special meeting at 7: 010 PM
April 16 with the .architect 's invited.
After some discussion , it was decided by the council that Zenisek
would contact Mrs. Barnett and that Neuhaus would contact Chas
Boland in regard to the possible purchase of their respective
properties for the fire station site. Both were to have some
report available for the special, meeting April 16.
Councilman Karal reported on street condition for the Street
Alley Committee, Contact would be made with Howell for further
consideration.

Clerk instructed 'to contact Linn Co. -Road dept® about hauling some
gavel on the salebarn road and also some blade work to be dune .
Approval. given Pekomy Rost 572 for blocking Main street
of Vanderbilt daring a Memorial Day program May 3O®
No further but mess, meeting adjourned,
