The regular town council meeting held at 7:00 Pill July 9 ,

1969 with all councilmen prF sent.
The minutes of the June 11, 16, and 30th meetings were approved.
The treasurers report was approved,
Resolution introduced bN Strang wherein the Town would release
its municipal lien on Lots 5 and 9 in Iowq Fund Plat no. 1.
Said resolution adopted on motion byStRang and seconded by Austin
with unanimous approval . Clerk reported that the sewer renal
payments by Iowa Farr" were current.
Clerk authorized to purchase from Linn County a culvert for the
Richard it pat rick residence, charging same amount to him that
the county charges the town.
The application of Albert L. Snell for a class C Liquor permit
effective August 9th was approved. Dance permit for Snell
also approved.
Clerk instructed to contact the Watertower -Repair Co. r6garding
the packing gland at the base of the tower, riser.
At the request of Deputy Shrbousek, clerk instructedto adiise
Iowa Fund of the need for a gate at the east end of Front St.
It was suggedted that a letter be sent to the South Slope Co
Op Telephone Co. pressing an interest in a pay phone installation
in the vicinity of 149 & Church St . corner. This had the
support of the council for reasons primarily of convenience to
strangers at night and to eliminate the need of them calling
on private residences in the vicinity for phone service.
After discussing the 1970 Bidoet in detail, the following
was found to be the necessary,askinos to be raised by taxation
and clerk was instructed to publish the Budget estimate for 1970
in the Gazette on a timely basis so the public hearing would be
set for, 7: 00 PX August 13, 1969.
