Special meetings would be called as[ deemed necessary by the Mayor. Wm. Serbousek and Rudolph Nemec were appointed Certified Water & Sewer plant operatorst the rating now held, at a fee of $60.00 per year. Councilman Austin appointed to audit the Mayors docket for the year 1969. It was agreed that the Town of Fairfax should join the Regional Planning Commission, and that the clerk should make proper application for same to Chairman Henderson. - Mayor announced he was going to appoint a Recreational Study Committee for the purpose of reviewing the town plan and for making recommendations for future changes. Warrants approved as follows: General,, 896 to 904 Water, 617 to 623 Sewer, 347-348 No further business, meeting act joOrned. Neuhaus , clerk Evelyn Carver, treasurer An Jan, 12, 1970, Betty Austin took the oath of office for councilman for the 'term Jan® 1. 1970 to Dec. 319 1971. Appropriations for 1970, were made as follows--as per the adopted budget estimate approved in August 1969. General Fund 91000.00 Street 59800 00 Public Safety 179600:00 Sanitation 49700.00 Recreation 11100.00 Utilities 11560900 Debt Service 73,53090.0 Road Use Tax 249936.00 Liquor Prof its 119800.00 Mayor Shakespeare appointed Betty Austin to be Mayor Pro Tem. Fairfax State Savings Bank was named official ddpositary for funds of Town of Fairfax in an aggregate amount of $150,000. and clerk instructed to file notice of this action with the St4te Treas, Russell Carver was appointed Fire Chief and Station Custodian at a salary of $120,00 per year, Wm. L. Serbousek was appointed town marshall, to serve without compensation. D. C. Neuhaus was appointed town clerk at $500,00 per year. Evelyn Carver was appointed town treasurer at $120.00 per year. Warren Ackley was designated as town attorney, to serve on an "as needed" basis. Ronald Stallman was appointed representative for the Linn Co. Civil Defense and is to be paid $3.00 per meeting attended. Karal, Vavroch and A. Stallman appointed Street & Alley Committee. Clerk reported that the proper bonds of Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, Treasurer and Clerk have been filed, surety being United Fire & Casualty Co.
