Regular meeting of the Fairfax Town Council held March 16,
1970' presided by Mayor Shakespeare with all councilmen
present.
The minutes of the Feb. meeting read and approved.
Treasurers report was read and approved.
Warrants approved as follows :
general 921 thru 926
water 640 thru 641
sewer 352 thru 353
Fire Chief Carver pr=sent and reported that the truck was
in and that it would be delivered to Olds, Iowa, for mounting
of the tank and pump.
The Class B. Beer Permit and the Liquor Permit for Hazel
E. Benesh was approved, effective April 1. 1970.
A equest to use the playground area for a dog show in early
spring was discussed. It was agreed that the area could be
used providing the adjoining three property owners were
contacted in advance, and that there werenn objections
offered. If there were no objections, , he group could use
the site for $25.00, in addition to proper cleaning of the
area,
Resolution No. 3-16-70 was introduced by councilman Austin,
said resolution "'To provide for the participation and cooperation
with other governmental agencies in the establishment and
operation of the regional planning commission of Linn County
Iowa" On motion Oade, seconded and unanimously approved
said resolution was ad opted. Clerk instructed to forward
a copy to the Linn County Supervisors , attention Hendrsson.
It was further agfeed that Franklin J. Karat would act as
representative on the board.
Removal of elm trees was discussed and Albert Stallman was
to contact Wyatt 's Tree Service regarding trees on Church
St . & Main St.
No further business, meeting adjourned.
