Fairfax Town Co.Anci.l met in regular session at 7®00 FM June 15,
1970 with all councilman, prdsent . Mayor Shakespeare presiding.
Minutes of the May 18th meeting were read and approved subject t o
one correction. They should be corrected to show the playground I
program would opefate 5 weeks only, June 22 thru July 24,
Minutes now approved as corrected.

Treasurers repovt showing a balance of $21, 613.97 approved.
Warrants approved as follows:
general 956 thru 963
water 656 thru 02
sewer 362 thru 365
The bill from Architect Johnson for $660.50 was not approved subject
to some unanswered questions.
A discussion on street :repair relative to the estimates given in '1969
by H owell Const . Co. was held. Clerk reported that he had checked
with Rowell and that he would be available for patching most any tine, but
that two towns were ahead of Fairfax, if seal, cote work were wanted.
The entire program depended on good weather, After discussing the
street programs,, it was deciced that there would be no wdrk done on
the streets this year in an effort to hold expenses down, This
decision was based on the cost estimates provided b y Howell and were
on rile at this tine.
Keith Sankot had inquired to the clerk about car turning since
Fairfax comes under the jurisdiction of the Linn Co. Bd. of Health.
Clerk inquired, to the Co. Bd. and found that the application should
be made to they, with approval of the town. Clerks phone conversation
with the County Bd. ;intimated that they w gild grant permission on a
one time basis if the Town would also zpprove. Thecounci 1 there-fore
j approve d Sankot 's request to burn the car bodies with the thought. that
a one time fire would be less of a problem than the continuing problem
of old car bodies being stored,
Class B. Beer permit was unanimously approved for Albert L. Snell
pending the payment of'' fees and filing of necessary papers .
Ronald Stallman presented a emmplaint on dogs owned by Richard Ray.
Droppings from the ftgs are washed into the street where they accumulate
and provide an unsanitary situation® Clerk instbuctdd to write
to Ray asking that he correct this- situation,
The Kennel Club was granted permission to use the Ball. Park the la st
Week end in September for a fee of 25®00:.
Mrs. Fames Wine 's request for a sign on Prairie St "Caution,
Children at Fla y" was denied.
Some citizens were presne t to complain about certain activities at
the Quarry site, owned by Toga, Fund. The owner is now in the process
of obtaining the necessary permit for proper Policing, and this sho ld
lve the problem.
