July 2, 1970
Special Meeting cif the Fairfax council held this 2nd day of
July 1970 with all councilmen present with Mayor Shakespeare
presiding.
Purpose of this meeting was to work on the proposed 1971 bLdget.
Present also was .James Be-anet, Fres ® Iowa Fund and Ja.xuesH® Kurtz .
Attorney Ackley also present®
Bennet stated that the necessary permit has be obtained and that
he hoped the policing of the Quarry site would now be accomplished.
Also, he pointed cut that Iowa Fund is in a position to purdhase
the parcel of land east of the Quarry and west of the Lagooni now
ov,yned by the town, as per the agreement entered into at t he time
the sewer system was constructed. Town acknowledged said greement,
and Bennet indicated he would send his fille showing, the descritTtion
of the property so that a deed could be drawn,
James Kurtz present relative to water and sewer extennsions
to the proposed mobile home park on his land. Methods when by
Kurtz could pay for construction and recover his investmelt f rom
users was discussed with various ideas being considered® It was
agreed by the council. in intent, that since Kurtz might pay for
the construction, that the town would cooperate to the extent it
legally could, to enable him to recofer a reasonalble portion of
his investment from future users or developers® Also discussed
was rates for water and sewerage that could be charged to
occupants cal' the Male Home Park and the method such charges wuuld
be collected® No Final decision on this matter made.
Preliminary plaQd on budget for 1971 was discussed. Final
figures to be available at the regular July meeting®
