Mayer clelk I I' I III i i, I I' i, 5 August 17., 1970 Regular meeting of the towncouncil held 7 :00 PM Aug. 17, 1970. All councilmen present with Mayor Shakespeare presiding. Minutes of the previous meetings read and approved. Treas. report read and approved. Mr. Levi & Mr. Cox from Ia. 121. Gas & Elec . were present, to ask if the To had any problems with service or if there may be something relative to service that they should know about. No complaints by the council,, and Levi indicated that someone from the Gas Co. would make periodic visits with the council so that if any problems existed, they would be available to so le them. Architect Johnson present to discuss progress on the fire station building. He reported the delays caused the contrsetor mostly caused b�,, aub contractors and material availability. Russell Carver and Loren Carver present and they filed a complaint relative to junked cars parked in the alley batxnan east of Reynolds St. and in the rear of the lot where Holetons had previously resided. Mayor indicated he would investigate to see what the town could. do in order to remove the cars. A complaint about excessive muise at 4:00AM on the streets was also filed by these parties . Orville Smith nd W. H. Wffims present and filed compaints about parked trucks on residential streets and The pay of Jo mastil was discussed with no final decision made . Mayor expressed hope a final demision would he made no later than the Sept. meeting. astills proposal for a splary of 3.50 per hour for all sewer and water work was not acted on. Mayor annoukieed. that the Tram holes w1ould be raised in the area of Dietzenback property in Iowa Fund. Addition. Janes H. Kurtz has presented a plat of sewer and water line extensions across Iowa Fund property inorder to ;:serge the proposed Mobile Hone Park. Council authorizedthe mayor and clerk to sigg the proposal and forward to the State Board of Health for their approval. This pertains to lay-out only, A ccpy of the plans are on file with the town as prepared by Archie Conklin, engineer for Kurtz. As per separate proceedings by the Bonding attorney 7:00 FM, Sept. 21., 1970 was set as the time for the sale of �50,000 General Obligation Bonds for the purpose of constructing the Fird Station. Motion by Stallman., seconded by Austin to authorize Karat to contr,-ct with Iowa Road Builders of 0alwain for additional street resurfacing work . --- -------........... .
