Special meetint of tho Fairfax Town Council h0d thU 2nd da-�,,-
of Novenber , 1970. AY nounciinsp present.
The purpose of this neeting w2s to have a discussion or,
police work with the Linr Courty Sheriff.
Present was Walter Grant, Linn Co. Sheriff and Deputy
Serbousek. Severa! views were presented by council merNars
including examples of where they felt enforwaw8nt was laz or
response too slow. Mr . Grant indicated thpt he thought Fairfax
wn2 luoky to have such a peaceful town but admitted that
he was not awere of some of the Wror prablens . He presented
a plan to increaze the Police cov, rage by putting on a full
tine deputy here at n cost of 0415 .00 per nonth. He also said.
that if we wished to employ a part time man to YD ! W, the
countl would havo no objection.
A discussion was held on shooting [ r _ z within the city
linits in the aras VP the s the lagoon, Severil
compininte have been filed about A. The nEycr announced that
he would direct the clerk to pbot notices advising tLe puolic
thst this practice is unlawful . Grynt examined the ordinance
on firearns (65-07 ) and suggested thLt some ch2nges be made
for betterenUrcement ; This would be taken up with town couneel .
Further discussion relative to an ordinance sindlar to ths

attorney, had earlior advised that this ordinanco would ba,
in effect, unenforceable and adv1 5ed not to draft one like
North English. it won zuggested thet possibly come other format

The estimate approvej by the srshitect for Schoff Conot. Co.
was presented and after a very brief disausvin� , it was moved
by Karal and seconded b� A . Stallman that no further funds
