Minutes of the Nov. 16 and Nov. 23 meeting read, and approved.
Treasurers report prey-anted and approved.

Clerk Neuhaus reported that he would not be available for
reappointment as Town Clerk for 1971. The demand of his time
for his employer and other activities would not permit him
to devote sufficient time toward the town job® However, he
indicated he would be available as needled for an indefinite
period of time to aid any replacement.
Pekomy Post 572, American Legion, granted ai renewal of
their Liquor Permit pending the filing of proper bond and
liability insurance and their fee to the statee
No further business the meeting adjounred®

Dec. 21, 1970
The regular meeting of the Fairfax Town Council hd1d this
lst day of Dec .,1 Mayor Shakespeare presiding and
the following councilmen present * .Karal James Stallman,
Austin and Vavroch.
Mayer announced that he had accepted the resignation of
Albert Stallman with regrets and than kid him for his long
and faithful service to the Town.
John Zamastil present to submit a petition relative to
the poli e department. Said petition was read by the mayor
and circulated among the councilmen. The suggestions contained
therein would receive future consideration by the council.
Robert Strang reported that there are numlarous stray dogs
at large and suggested that the drag ordinance be amended or
that the myyors proclamation relative to stray dogs be enacted
in the winter months possibly year around® This idea seemed
to have some merit and the council discussed the matter at some
length.. It would be decided later whether to use the existing
ordinance provisions oftener, or to amend the ordinance.
The question of trains b1 eking the Vanderbilt crossing can the
C . & LAW r ilroad was discussed with examples lee of lengthy periods
of blodkage being cited. Clerk instructed to contact the C&NW
regarding a possible solution.

He reported that two firemen had resigned effective year end-_.

j Ken Hassen was present to explain a proposal whereby the frame
building owned by .filbert Snell can the corner of Main and Vanderbilt
would be used as a Laundromat. Council indicated that zoning
as presently in effect was satisfactory for such a use and
that the only thing necessary was to obtain a building permit
if there was any remodeling anticipated .
'On motion by Earal and second by J. Stallman, it was unanimously
approved that Ronald J. Burger be appointed cou4ci.lman to replace
Albert J. Stallman for the term expiring Dee . 31, 197f. This
appointment to take effect in ediately.
Mayor appointed Burger to the 'Street and Alley Committee,
Mayor announced that he had k±xad not hired a replacement for
John Zamastil as an employee for thewater and sanitary dept,.
Austin appointed to audit the Mayor 's Docket.
Certificate #6 of Schof f Construction Co. was approved for
payment on roll callvote with .Austin and Stallman voting yes and
K aral voting no. Vavroch was not present for the voted
