Special meeting of the Town Bouncil of Fairfax met Jan.
1971 with the following co"rcil e a present; Karal.',
James Stallman, Austin and Vavrooh. Mayor Shakespeare
presiding.
Ronald. J. Burger waa sworn in as councilman to fulfill
the unexpired term of Albert J. Stallran, which would
expire Dec . 31.,E 1971.
On motion by .Austin and second by Vavroch, the following
appropriations were made for 1971 9 the same being approved
in the 1971 Budget adopted Aug. 10, 1970a
General
Street
Public Safety
Sanitation.
Recreation.
Utilities
Debt Service
Road Use Tax
Liquor Prof t
said motion unanimously approved on roll_ oaf Grote.
There was a Wscussion re,gard.i.n.g the appointment of at Town
Clerk with no action taken at this time.
General discuaaion relative to the Fire Station and T
Hall.
Motion made, seconded and approved that the Fire Chief would
he the custodian of the appal atue rooms of the Fire station
It was noted that Charles Yaneeek is the new Fi.rd Chief.
There was some discussion relative to the Law Enforcement
program of the Town.
The plasibility of an ordinance governing the operation of
Snowmobiles and 'Mini hikes was discussed with any action
delayed until more information on the subject was available.
The subject of a Town Attorney was di_,a usaed w ith no action
taken
