ReLaular meeting of the Fairfax Town Council held April 19, 1971

Minut es of March 23, 1971 meeting read and approved.
Report of Street & Alley committee. As soon as extimate is gotten on
type and size of culvert to be placed across church street the committee
will ask for bids on street work,
Linn County Engineer to be contacted on digging the dtiches along the
road leading to Longview Drive. And what kind of a dust program has
been set up by them, Property owners willing to pay for half of work
if town and county will pay the other half®
Clerk to contact Urban Renew department in Cedar Rapids for possiblilty
of getting several loads of rock, old sidewalks etc for rip rap on
creek bank between creek and lagoon.
Bud Burger to contact Joel Johnson on finishing up work on apron and
other jobs on the fire station,
Clerk to check on Federal funding of the Open Space program for
a possibility of purchase of land front St Patricks Church that the
ball diamond and ice skating rink now occupy.
Mayor Shakespeare to contact Milo Kubasa if he will bewilling to work
for the town on a supervisorery postition.- Clerk to post notice to
hire boys to do numerous jobs for town on a pArt time basis. Mr
Kubasa to supervise them.
Ron Stallinan and Orville Smith from the Fire Department ask that the
council take under advisement at Budget time getting the fire department
ndw coats and boots also some t*pe of health and accident insurance,
Mr Bruns from Combined "a also attended meeting and outlined
a plan to the council. '

Councilmen givenpopies of past years balances, rece#tpts and expenditures
for their consideration and planning for budget hearings.
Maintence , repairs , and road work at lagoon discussed.
Next meeting will be held May 6th.
Check received from Albert Snell for application for dance permit
for Sam's Lounge. Motion to dzni xxdzxkxi disallow made by
2nd approved. Matter to be refered to Mr Ackley £®
concurrence with State, Law.
