The regular meeting of the Fairfax Town Council was held August 19, 1971
Mayor Shakespeare presiding, All councilmen present.
Uatber Breitbach Pasbur of St Patricks Church and Ben Stallman a trustee
of St Patricks attend the meeting for a discussion of the lease agreement
that the town has with St Patricks on the balldiamand and ice skating
rink. St Patricks will take under advisement the changing of the lease to
vead 12 months a year from the present 4 months a year. They will give us a
answer before the 15th of September.
Since Joel Johnson is no longer with the firm of Armon, Kopecky and Johnson
Architects the clerk was instructed to contxact Armon for a representive of
firm to attend our next council meeting to check over the list of unfinished
project on the fire station building.
Several matters referred to P & z for their cleareece. Clerk instructed to
write to the owners (Robert L. Wood ) of the fkm mn former Thompson property
and advise them that they must have a special permit to raise hotses in the
town limits, and-that they need a building permit for exterior improvements.
Louis Whitney attendA mpeting toopresent his findings on the right angle drive
motor for lift station #1 The cost of the pump will be about $1,100 Motor
cost are to be figured later after cone acting the Civil Defense office in
Linn County if_ they havea motor available at a reasonable cost.
Sam Snell attended meeting to reapply for his dance permit after a bery
lengtby discussion the motion to approve the permit was hade bg Ronald Burger
264 by Ron Vavroch, Roll call vote Karal-abstained Stallman ® Ye_ s Vavroch-Yes

Clerk instructed to contact Warren Ackley 2nd Set up a Meeting With hiMt On
the numerous ordinance changes to be made,
Mr Hall from the H I H Uar§age hauling co of Newhall was at meeting to present
to council/his type of hauling, charges per house , service , etc®
for their consideration
Mr Kubasa attened meeting to see if council had any new project for him to
take care of, Cleaning culverts with the help of the fire department was the only
thing mentioned.
