in for their term of office from Jars 1, 1972 to December 31, 1973,

OR Motion by Ronald xtallman , 2nd Gary Stockton the Aiterican Legion was granted
Beer and Liquor License for 1972. Carried
Council authorized Councilman Shkkespeare to continue, with the pleas and follow up

to completion the improvements to the Lift Stations as authorized while he was
mayor.

Mayor Austin appoint Harold Shakespeare Mayor-Pro-Tee
On motion of Garry Stockton 2nd Ronald atallman the following appointments were
adefor 1972.. Carried on Roll Gall vote a yes
Fairfax State Savings Banke named depository for 'fawn funds
Charles Yanecek reappoint Fire Chief and Custodian of Fire Station at a salary of
$120*00 per year for latter position.
William Serbousek appeoi€st Town marshall to soxmxz serve without compensatiot
Virginia Soukup appoint towns clerk at annual salary of $700.00
Evelyn Carver appointed town treasurer at annual salary of $150,,00
Ronald Stall an appointed representative to Linn Ce Civil Defense to paid $3,00 per meeting
Virginia Soukup appointed to Linn Cc Reginbal planning as town representative
Certify Rudy Nemec as `dater Dept consultant at $50.00 per year
Naming of official town attorney tabled for discussions at later date.

On Motion of Donald Austin, 2ad James atal:lman, 2 a beer permit for Charles Boland
for 1972 was granted. Carried.
Clerk instructed to return the resolution received from Cedar Rapids Mayer in regard
to the relocation of 1: 380 highway with the following noti ati on; The Fairfax Town
Council at this time sloes not wish to enter into this discussion as there has been
e clear cut position made among the townspeople of Fairfax.

John Zamastil inquired of the council if they intended to do any checking into
the several types of ''law enforcement besides the sheriffs de.paitment that was
available for the town, Mayor Austin assured him that she is going to do a
through investigation into these matters,
Joe Bell, Linn Cap Deputy, assigned to th is territory, attended meeting with
the expressed purpose of meeting the new council and asking for any suggestions
xxxts in helping him do his job getter.
Clerk instructed to info.rm Mr Kubasa as to the Fire Route as so de ignated by
the Fire Deparnnnt to be plowed first. The streets are Church from 149 to
Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt from Linn to Lesey. losey street from Vanderbilt to
149 and the full lenght of Linn street.

returned to attorney as it was the thought of the council_ that this was not
the ordance that was odginally approved in June and July of 1968,
