All Councilmen present Minutes of previous meeting approved. Treasurer a, report approved,: Mr Cox and Y-jr Levi from 'la Ill Gas & Electric paid a courtesy call on the council to answer any questions, complaints etc, that the council might wish to ask in regard to the service to the commupity. on otion of R Stallman 2n d James Stallman bills present for payment to be m allowed, Carried I&tter received and read to the council. by the mayor from the Linn County Attorneys office in reggrd to our contract with the Minn Co Sheriffs Department Our contract withthe Linn County Sheriffs Department unless renewed by the town will be cancelled in 6 mothts. (July 19, 1972), A lenghty discussion was held in regard to this matter. It was the consensus of the council that all different types of police protectiork for the town, should be throughly investigated, Mr Kimball of the Veterans Protective Ass'n gill be ask to attend a special counleil meeting to be held on Feb 16, 1972 to �ive a detailed, report of his organizations service. other companies and also the sheriffs dept will be ask to attend rather meetings in the near future. Y1r Bill Ball from Uall's PiCkUD Service attend the council meeting to outline his companies service. He has ofEL-red the ,town a, I year contract with. an Automatic renewel clause for $5,000 per year. This would include all residende and business establish is within the city limits with no limit of the amount of or type of refuse to be hauled by his company. Junk cars will also be towed away on the condition that they have at least two s:heals and tires so they may be pulled by wrecker. H, L. Clerk gave report on Library Board and the progress in reigedeling of the old bant. A target date of June 11 has been set for the formal opening of the library.
