Mayor Shakespeare presiding. All Councilmen present.
Mr Levi. and Mr Cox from I& Ill Gas & Elec present-to pay a c untesy call
an the Town Council.* They ask that if any complaints are received on
service. from their company to be sure and contact them immediately.
Miss Joyce Muller attended council eetirag to inquire if their church
youth group could have a gathering in the area of the quarry, on
Saturday 1-0/7/72, from 5 to 11. Council informed Miss Miller of the
regulations recently passed in regard to the use of the quarryO
Mr James Poorbough attenddd meeting asking the council to do what they
could in obtaining for him a emergency vehicle permit from the State Dept
of Public Safety„
The following resolution was unani.aaou,sly approved.
BE IT RESOLVED BY the Town Council of Fairfax, lowaf meeting in regular
session doves kierebyy request the State Dept of Public Safety to
issue a Vehicular Emergency Permit to'James Nam Poorbaugh* who is a,
duly authorized and fully compensated Peace officer engaged in law
enforcement work in the 'Town of Fairfax.
BE IT RESOLVED BY the Town Council of Fairfax, Linn County, Iowa that
we concur and shall adhere to the provisions outlined in this permit,,

Dan Young and Steve Selzer from the Fairfax J,C.*s attenddd meeting to ask t
that the Council make a formal offer to Mr Murphy and his sisters fav the
property located adjacent to- the ball dM ond,.. .After discussion the following
items were to be referred to Mr McLeod for his consideration and drawing
up a formal offer,

On motion of R Stallman 2nd J Zamastil to allow Jerry Merta to deviate
from the Usual 8 ft side yard to 6 ft side yard passeden call call vote.

Item 2 of Planning & Zoning report in regard to 71.09 Municipal Code to be
checked out with Fire Insurance Company and consideration to change
