Minutes of previous meeting and special meeting approved as mailed. on motion of Ronald Stallman 2nd John Zamastil bills approved for payment. Carried. Mr Warren Ackley attened meeting to present his bill for $407,00 for his services to the town from December 1971 to June 1972. Discussion of clarifing of 71.09 of Ordinance Yl held, Following the recommendations of the planning and zoning committee the coiTDcil instructed clerk to contact town attorney for him to draw up a a revision of this section to read in part. Side Yard Depth, 8 ft on each side to lot lines. Houses with attached garage must be kept a minimum of 8feet from lot line. Unattached garages may be built a minimum of 3 feet from the side or rear lot line. Discussion held on ,,t,hie position of building inspoector as some one other .than the clerk to actually inspect buildings as they are being constructed. Matter to be referred to Wd planning and zoning commitee for their recommondations. -Points to be considered : Type of individual to hold postion, rate of pay, it he should be paid, etc, Discussion held on Zoning Board of Adjustment, Who would be on it? Gary Stockton to check with Mayor of Swisher on how they have appointed their board, Table until Nvvembex meeting, item then may be referred to town attorney for his interptetation. Because of several accidents and many near misses the council approved the following motion made by Ronald Stallman 2,nd James Stallman.* A Yield Sign shall be placed at the N W corner of Vanderbilt and Church street for all traffic coming south on Vanderbilt Street. Stop signs shall stop traffic an Vanderbilt going north and on Church street going West. Be It Resolved: That the Fairfax Town Co :ncil meeting in regular session does hereby designated the Fairfax TowifAall, Flairfaic Public Library, and the Fairfax Postoffice as the ihree official public buildings for the purpose of posting of any ordinances and or revisions of the Muncipal Code of the Town of Fairfax. Be it resolved by the Town Council of Fairfax, 'Linn County, Iowa that we concur and shall adhere to the provisions outlined in this resolution, Virginia Soukup (Signed) R. L. Co: ncil informed that Merton Goddard would be interested in buying i. some of the 16" tires off of the junked truck., Mr Kubasa to get estimates and relay price to Mr Goddard for his consideration. Mr Kubasa to get togeather with Mr Shakespeare and start a program of regular water hy#rant flushings before freezing weather starts Mayor Shakespeare given permission of council to attend a workshop at the Univ of Iowa in regard to xour water and sewer dept® Fee's to be paid out of these: accounts, No Eurther business. IOWA 52228 RESOLUTION NO. 11-2-72 BE IT RESOLVED: The the Fairfax Town Council, meeting in regular session does hereby designated the Fairfax Torn Hall, The Fairfax Public Library and the Fairfax Postoffice as the three official public buildings for the purpose: of posting of any ordinances and or revisions of the Muncipal code of the Town of Fairfax. BE IT RESOLVED: by the Town Council of Fairfax, Linn County Iowa that we concur and shall adhere to the provisions outlined in this resolution.
