Purpose of meeting: Report from City representative on the Linn County Housing Committee: and other matters that shall come up. re neil advised that the Water main at the end of Main street is being extended to accomadste a new house being boil by R Burger, also that there is areal need for storm sewers in the area. Letter of resignation received by Mayag Shakespeare from Csi�ncilman R befebure. Mr 'Lefebure is moving out of town. Resignation accepted with regret. Mayor Shakespeare thanked Mr Lefebure for this service to diecity. Mr Dean'14artman gave report of survey of housing in Fairfax. Out of 198 units, vieved from an'the outside 112 were rated an sound, 4,8 minor deficient and 7 m,aloo deficient. None were classed as Substandard. Discussion held as, to what council could do and bat other volunteer organizations could to to help in getting further data to Mr Hartman in regard to these in need of assistances. Money is available to the elderly and these classed as being below the poverty level in fixing up or remodeling their homes. There being ago` further business meeting adjourned. Mr Barnett and Mr Geiskirg from Powers & Associates presented several plans for the council to take underconsidera-tien. A full comprehensive planning fas a 10 year" period would cost in the are of 8 to 10 thousand dollars. I ,A esummunity facilties plan covering never, water, storm sewers, curb and g,-,,t ter etc approx 2,000.00 A 5 to 6 year -capital impolovement plan wouli be anadditonal $1,500.00 just and engineering study of water dept 1,500.00 or sewer 1,500.00 Council to take under consideration the above. Other planning consultants to be contacted for their estimates. Discussion held on naming of vouncilment to replace Robert Lefebure.- Several Neames re placed for consi deration.
