HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/02/1975 Council Minutes Regular meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held 4/2/1975. Mayor Shakespeare Presiding. Coincilrpen J Stallman, R Stallman, 0 Stockton, J Zamastil, R -Brecht present. Minutes of previous meeting approved. Citi ens & guests attending meeting. Mr 8-1 Mrs Robert Lefebure Mr 97 Mrs Al J6e Sankot, Mrs John Zamastil, Albert Stallman, gonald Burger, Ralph Emanuel. Bills approved for payment, on motil-in of James- Stallman, 2nd Jahn Zamastil, Carried. Sheriffs contract disuession. Copy of contract received. Basically the same contract that has been reviewed before except the hours (48 instead of 4b) The monthly (post set at $610.00, Pro's and Con's were again gone over.-ag Several of the guests asking questions and stating their opinions. Clerk instructed to check with Dave Neuhaus on insurance' coverage on contents: of street garage, "Motion by R Brecht 2nd J Zantastil that a date be set for a town meeting for a disunesion on police protection. Carried on a 4 to 1 vote. April 13, 1975 at American Legion Hall date set for meeting. Letters to be written to Board of Supervisors and Sheriff Grant asking that they or their representatives be in attendance at meeting. Mayor Shakespeare to chair meeting. Representatives from baseball team ask for co ncils c.yinion on the installation of lights at the ball park. It was approved by council on approval and consent of close neighbors. They will beginning checking pith people in the area. The i installation of a Home Run Fence and the repair or replacement of the bleachers was also taken up. Council feels that the first thing to be doneis repair or replace the bleachers. They ask that the balltea,m bring to the co-incil esti ated cost for possible financial help from Federal Revenue Sharing money. Disucssion held with R Burger in regard to the signing of the easement for the storm sewer project. Clerk to have Humane Society patrol the town for stray dogs on Monday 4/7/75 if the weather is good. Dan Shakespeare has resigned from the Water & Sewer Dept as of 5/1/75, Need to f ind a j(nMed4ately.
