Zoning Committee held at town hall on October 7 wlth ail members. Of
Planning and Zoning Committee present and a members of Council except
Stockton present.
Re: Zoning ordinance in particular multi-housing: tabled for
further consideration.
: Sewer extension charges: In fajrness to people who have already
connected to the city sower, it is recommended that it be the
obligation of the person or development. wanting sewer service to
pay ].0Of of the cost to connect to existing sewer .with said sewer
to be installed to the specifications of the city of Fairfax.
City of Fairfax .. to refund to person or development on a percentage
basis, excluding interest, that portion of government obligation
bonds, etc., said person or development has paid the city of
Fairfax for installation of said Sewer. Percentage cos to be
based on cost to closest accessible property line.
Re: Change in water rates: Recommendation ie to Dower minimum rate
to 5000 gal, at same charge for present minimum rate and make
necessary further adjustments above this to make water system
setf sustaining.
Purchase of land from Iowa Fund for small payground: We recommend
that the council investigate acquiring lot #37 from Iowa Flnd
for playground purposes
Re: Joint project with Linn County on Grain Pin road: Recommend that
council and county officials work together in regard to best
type of surface for this road.
Re: Proposed street by Iowa Fund: Recommendation is that an engineer
draw up specifications as per town recommendations for the pro-
posed street and that the manhole for storm sewer be rebuilt
before the street iS paved.
Re: New Recormend that the council investigate obtaining option.
on new well site as proposed.
Re: Dogs: Recommend tbat the council investigate dogs running loose
with possibility o1 someone authorized to catch such dogs.
