Co ncilmen R Carver, R Staliman, Ed Brown, Kathie Hanke present Beecht absent Minutes of previous meeting approved. Report of the Board of Adjustments meetings of 7/28/76 and 8/3/87 in regard to a application of Dennis Merl to build a 26Y48 acessory building on his property -X/ cr-r a building permiO On a vote of 3 to I building permit refused®. Dennis Marta presented a new application forthebuilding permit to the City Council for a smaller acesBory building (26x40) to be build on the rear of his property Several objectors heard in regard to this matter. Of concern was that the type and size of the building was more commercial than residential and should not be allowed in this district. Motion to allow a building permit to be issued for 8 2600xixi&� building to DennisMerta made by R. Carver 2nd R Stallman. Roll Call vote Voting Yes R. Carver, R. Stallman, Ed Brown, Voting No Kathie Hanke. Carried, Mr Levi & Mr Cox from Ia Ill GaF Attended meeting to answer any questions in regard to the companies service. Planning A Zoning report in regard to rezoning of property owned by Kr & Mrs R Wood, presented® P& Z' recommended to Council that a Change to Commercial C-2 be denied. Mr & Mrs R Wood presented their application for zoning chapge to Council for their consideration. The purpose of rezoning would be for the owners of the property to recondition cars that are purchased by the Wood's and then rQsold to dealers. Mr Wood holdsa wholesale dar dealers license, After condiderable discussion Mbtion to issue a temporary commerical zoning (if property is sold by the Wood"s it will revert to residentUl zone) and furtber stipulate that theie shall not be more than 12 cars on the property at any one time to be reconditioned, made by R. Carver 2nd Ed Brown. Roll call vote : Voting yes R. Stallman, R Carver, Ed Brown & Kathie Henke. Voting No: None Carried. Don Hall City Engineer present to council details of the storm sewer for Fairfax Road between Linn and Church streets. Approximate cost 28,000.00, No starting date has been set. Expansion of the Lagoon algo discussed. Robert Johnson, Linn County Building dept, was present to answer questions from council inregard to. Building Codes . Clerk to check surrounding towns .for their building codes. Clinton township trustees , Mike Gibney & Ceo O'Connell present council with a contract for fire extinquishing services for parts of Clinton township not now covered by a fire district. Reinburesewznt to Fairfax will be 11 mls on the property involved. Motion to sign contract made by Fqthie Hanke grad Ed Brown. Carried. , Mqps and list of names to be given to the F2QfaY Fire Dept. Motion to approve bills with the excqption; of Colony Plumbing made by Ed Brown 2nd Kattie Hanke. Carried. Appointment to P & Z of Milo Kubasa made b y K Hanke , 2nd Ed Prown Carried Alpointment to Library Board of Vernon Cerveny made by R Stallman 2nd Ed Brown carried , Motion to replace the tank on the old fire truck made bn Ed Brown, `2nd K Banke carried Cdscussion of closing street by elevator for private party bv owiers of elevator Motion to approve by Ed Brown 2nd R Stallman Carried New contract with sheriff"s department discussed, Price increase of $366.00 per yeari Motion to approve R Carver 2md Kathie Hanke Carried. Discussion of signing a contract for codification of the city ordinance tabled until later and council has a change to read the offer.
