Resoluction awarding contract for the construct on of the Municipal mater System
Utility Improvements introduced by Russell Carver 2nd Ronald Stallman, Carriedl.
Contract awarded to Louis F. Whitney, Inc 1714 E Avenue Ng Cedar Rapids, Iowa
on a 166 bid of $25,355.30.. Other bidders were Thorpe well East, Marion, lowa
300594.50, & Layne Western Co Ames, lowa 36,878.00
Discussion on K Selzer°s plan to place parking lot in front of the Senior
Citizens building. Ralta manuel, Chair-man of Board of Review ask if a meeting
of the Board of Review was necessary as Council had approved brailding'permit.
Two council, members could remember plates showing parking lot in front®two council member
could not remember. (Parking, Lots in front of buildings are prohibited city
brdi c . order of Mayor Stallman, City Clerk to write Mr Selzer a letter asking
that he varfy that his o inal plans called for the parking lot in front.
City Clerk ask to be relieved of the duty of issuring permits for building in rairfax
as she does not feel qualified. All building permits to be Bleared thru council at
the regulat council meetings the first 'Thursday of the month, I :_' c,

Shaw McDermott, Des Moinefs Fairfax Stag Savi s 'dank 53/4%. Patterson
moved that resolution be accepted and bid be awarded to the Fairfax State
Savings Bank 2n4 Vernon C ry ny. Carried. Roll Call vote all Ayes.
