Linda Ley on, Community Aide and Dave Wheatley, Regional Planning attended meeting
to get the recommondations from the council for the .-updating of the City of Fairfa a
needs in Park & Recreation area to be made part of the Linn County Park and
recreation program. Motion to approve the following was made by K llanke grad
taslman Carried. Upgrading of Existing facilities, Future projects
l,pur°chase of the old school to be developed into a community center 2. purchase legit
adjacent to present tennis counr°t: for 2nd court, 3. purebase the 3 acre tract adjacent to
present park and ball field! for future expansion and placement of pavilion and
picnic area® 4. A tail along,, the creek tying into the o �en space area east of the
city should be constructed at such time as trail from the Cedar River is extended
westerly to corporate limits, 5. :flood D12 in are along Prairie creek be clared

1st reading. of Ordinance 81 repealing article 1-30306 and e°.na cting a new article
in lieu thereof. (Council member compensation change from 5,00 to 7,50 per meeting)
Motion to approve made by K. Hanks 2nd R. Carver Carried. Motion to waive 2nd
and 3rd reading garde by R. !Garver grad K shake. Carried. Mayor declared ordinance
approved and to take effect. January 1980

Discussion and lawyers opinion letter read in regard to the collection of
sewer rent on un-approved lots in the Iowa Fund addition. According, to the agreement
signed and recordedin July of 1965 rent should be paid by successors in interest

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE 1-3.0306 OF THE CITY CODE OF FAIRFAX .
IOWA, AND ENACTING A NEW ARTICLE IN LIEU THEREOF.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, as follows. ,
7 Article 1-3.0306 COMPENSATION, of the City Code. of Fairfax, Iowa,
is hereby repealed in its entirety, and the following is substituted in
lieu thereof.
1-3.0306 CO�TEN'SATION. The salary of each Council member
shall be Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7.50) for each
g meeting of the Council attended, not to exceed in any one
yeas, One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) .
