Mayor Stallman opened the public tearing an the request of K. 0. Selzer for
the rezoning sof Lot 1 & 2 and the Fast 301 of Lot 3, Block 4 Originil town of
Vanderbilt frotta. P-1 to Y-3. Mr Selzer expla-ined to council that he wished to
biild another Senior Citzen apartment building on the land in question. One of
the questions that he felt needed answering. was just how committed was he in
keeping, the present 4-plea as a Senior Citzen residence and not converting it
to just a 1714-plex": lle has a signed contract withthe Farmers Home Adm
for a 20.year loam, for S53,,O0O.O0, if he attempted to pay it off it would coast
him $240,000,00 to get out of the contract. Farmers Bove has given him permission
to use the alley as access to the need building so there is no need to open up
Railroad Street.. Mr Selzer advised council that local labor, firms etc were used
in :3/4's of the.. construction of the present 4-€?lex and he intended to use just
as much in the building of the next cane. No objectors appeared against the re oing
Minutes of Fairf,x Planning & Zoning in regard to this rezoning were read to council
They recommended to council that the rezoning be allowed.
Russell Carver made Motion to approve rezcring, 2nd Leray Patterson. Carried on
roll call vote. All ayes. 1 absent
Public hearing on Budget mmendment held. No objectors present and no written
objectigns received, Resolution 12579 approved can motion of R Carver 2nd
V Cerveny . Carried on Roll Call vote . All Ayes. One absent !

Budget meetings to be held January, 7tii, 14th, 21st, . 28tb at 7 P,M.

Mark Brower was introduced to council. mark currently works f:,r gigs Waterworks,
and has been in the Water and Vaste mater training program at Kirkwood, He needs
to work with a. trained operator so that he may sec,ere his certification ion so it has
been suggested that he serve as a. back up mart for Ron Dusal, when needed. Motion
ref' ll Stallman 2nd L Patterson that permission be given him to work with ?ton when,
and as needed.
Discussion held on Alarm system phone at Lift Station. Alternate methods to be
looked into and discussed at Budget t ime.
City attorney to be contacted further in regard to sewer resat on Auditors plat
318 and Iowa Fund lst Add.

Pulls approved for payment on Tmotion of i. Patterson, 2nd tT Cerveny. Carried
CompleteC.otint Committe for 19,80 census discussed. City clerk- to contact volunteers
to help on project.
The new grass buggy should be completed and back in two weeks, at that time the
old fire truck will be taken to Breda for repairs.
Sheriffs dept to be notified about 2 cars thet have been parked on street more
than 48 hours. They are to tag- them for removal.
