Councilmen Stalr.man, Carver, Selzer, S akespeare & Cerveny present, Minutes of previous meeting approved, 25 visitors present, Don Kleis freer° Prairie Road Builders presented co"nci.l with plans and a bid on street improvements Ri.s bid wes 501 per square yard. Included in this price was .03999 for the cast of cutback asphalt. � Marvin mull, from Municinal Street Improvements also presented council with a j bid of 50, per sq yard. *kink, pinta, from Cedar Valley Asphalt advised cou-cil that he Baas an associate of Mr Nulls in the Municipal Street Improvements Co. Council delayed action on either proposal until later in the meeting, Matt Kriz (A-1 DisposAl) and Steve Harrison (iiawk.eye Waste) attended meeting Ur Kriz advised council that he had did a survey of the city in regard to pickups and had come cap with a count of 2 70 stops. His bid of 3.25 per stop with city furnishing the landfill fee would amount to 0903.50 per month. Be would prefer to pick up on some day cattier than Monday, our present pick up day. He would agree to a pickup day in May or large items or they could be picked up each Beek if they were notified ahead of t bane, Council thanked Mr Kriz for his effort and will advise him of their dec-iRon Finalization of hau]er will be taken dare of at the March Meeting. The next time will not be a ;.yarning but the loss of thjir license, Capj4n Darrold Smith, Linn County Sheriff's dept . ,attended meeting to answer q ;estions in regard to law enforcement in the City of Fairfax. Gerald Matthess, Rural Fairfax, presented a petition asking that the City . investigate an alternative protection service as they felt the Linn County Sheriffs dept. was not providing adequate police protection. There were a total of 126 signatures (15 signatures were either dupli.cate(l person signed three times) or incorrect signatures and 21 were from residence outside of city limits). � Some of the statements made were as follows: Ceral Matthesse--Most problems were not vandelizma but theft. no action taken by Sherif- Mi.ck Heintz--Why so ineffective in finding out who is doing, the breakins. The sberiffb dept is to ]seep their radar cars out of his driveway4 If he has a brealcin he wants the Highway Patrol to investigate not sheriff's dept. Why more interest in the ASAP program and arresting drunks Lien solving the breakins. Social Security number not effective , no easy way to trace.
