No official action swill take place at this meeting,
This is a informational and work session meeting.

Representatives from South Mope and from the
repair crew will be here.
City Attorney has been out of the town and
have not been able to contact him on the Drug
Ordinance, He is suppose to be back in Monday will
send him a copy of that one give to-vou at council
meeting last week. hope to have info by Monday night.
Enclosed are copies of the n? Ordinance changes
made by West Star that they would like to see
in our ordinance.
Received copies of contract with Limn Co on ! emetery
Road repairs--that was approved at May 6 council.
Our cost will be $1,,300.00. This will be a seal
coat with pea gravel. This needs Mayors signature

James Stallman presiding. Councjl--present Cerveny, Shakespeare, Feight
& Josifek. Absent Carver. 'rem Citizens attended
Correction of minutes of May meeting should read N. Josifek voted no
on motion to move the Legion 'Liquor permit from Legion Hall to Beer Tent
for -,-Hey Days. Approved as corrected and placed on file.

Resolution 6382 presented by Jim Feiobt that Franchise Ordinance be
drawn up and arrangements be made with the Commission of Elections to
place the question on a ballot and that an election be held on the
granting of the Franchise to Star West, Inc Cable TV. All voting yes.
Sue Michael, from PRIDE,present council with petitions signed by 36
peoprld (18 inside the city limits. 18 outside of city limits) requesting
that council take under consideration the passing of a Drug Paraphernalia
Ordinance. Tabled until after special work session 6/14/82.
Representatives from Iowa Workmans Comp insurance co. presented council
with proposal for them to consider in regard to our Workmans Comp coverage.
Tabled until after special work session can be held.
Resolution 6382A "Setting guide lines in regard to Legion Hey Dqys Celebration"
presented by V. Cerveny 2nd J. Feight. All voting Yes

Resolution 63820 "Establish�tng special parking areas and temporary
parking restrictions during the 4th' of July Fireworks displAy" presented
by V. Cerveny 2nd J. Feight. All voting Yes.
Clerk to contact owner of 330 Vanderbilt to clarify starting date of repairs
to the building.
Building permit issued to J. Murphy for a storage shed on motion of V. Cerveny
2nd N. Josifek. All voting Yes
City Clerk given permisson to close office on June 8th to attend work hop
at Coralville, June 28th for la day of vacation and July 21,22 & 23 for
school at Iowa State at Ames, on Motion of V. Cerveny 2nd H. Shakespeare
Voting Yes Cerveny, Shakespearq, Josifek, Voting No J. Feight. Carried
,esolution 6382D Setting the salaries for appointed officers and employees
of the City of Fairfax, Iowa for the Fiscal Year 1982-1983, presented
by N. Josifek 2nd H. Shakespeare. All voting Yes,.
Correspondence read in regard to the closing out of Step One of the EPA
Sewer Grant.
Discusilon.- Ask Chicago NW Railroad for up date on'the signalization of
Vanderbilt crossing, Patching of Fairfax Road Weist,Mowirg of park, locking
of restrooms at park, sewer rates
Motion to approve bills and peirmission to pay any bills received before
June 30,1983 that were prsviousl,y--approved in budget for f/� 81182 made by
N. Josifek 2nd V. Cerveny. All .voting Yes

Purpose of meeting: Work session on T V Franchise Ordinance, Drug
Paraphernalia, & discussion with South Slope Telephone Go. on ditch and
lawn repairs.
T V FranchiseOrdinance reviewed, City Clerk to discuss Ordinance with
City Attorney for councils further assessement. Drug Paraphernalia Ordinance
tabled until City Attorney is consulted.
Construction Engineer Bob flite assured citizens attending meeting that
repairs will be made to lawns within the next two weeks if the weather
cooperates.
