C. Neuhaus advised council that one of the items listed-in-Mr JohnTralls will;
the city will be left a yet undetermined amount of money to be administrated
by a Board of Trustees consisting of the Mayor, Hr Neuhaus and Mrs David
Selzer. Mr Krall was the President of the Fairfax Kpte Savings Bank and
the first City Clerk of Fairfax. He was one of the prime movers to have
the City of Fairfax incorporated, At will be approximately 15 months before
the fund will be set tap® The Fairfax Library was also left a direct bequest
of $1,000.00, and a memorial fund has been set up with the Library in Mr & Mrs
Kralls name.
Representatives from the Fire Department inquired of council it Aere were funds
available for advanced training for several of the fireman to enroll in the
course titled, "Ist Responder%. Cost may very depending npon the availablity
of used text books. V. Cerveny made motion that Revenue Sharing monies
and regular funds be used for this purpose , 2nd N. Josifek. All voting aye.
Discussion held on the advisability of installing an outside metered water
connection at the fire station for use of bulk purchases of water. Clerk
to check other cities who have this system and report back to council,
Report and corr6spondence on sewer project reviewed. A spedial council
meeting will be held on September 22, 1982 at 6:30 PM with representatives
from the PFD?, Green Engineering and council.
Street committee to meeting with representatives of Fire Dept, Legion and
any other interested citizens to investigate where "No parking here to
corner" permanebt signswill be placed. Time and place to7S&&tTlAter
City Clerk given permission to attend Planning & Zoning Semimstr on November
170 1982 in Iowa City and the Budget Workshop at Coralville on December 2, 1932.
Clerk to contact Chairman and Sec'y of P & Z to see if they would also be
available to attend the seminar on November 17.
Resolution 1142. Authorizing certain past due water & sewer acco"nts to be
certified to the Linn County Auditor- and Treasurers office For collection
presented by A. Faight 2nd V. Cerveny. Carried. All voting Aye
Bills approved for payment on motion of H. Shakespeare 2nd V. Cerveny.
