Special meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held 4/14/83. Mayor Stall-man
presiding. Council present, Josifek, Carver, J. Feight, Shakespeare & Cerveny.
Purpose of meeting. Sewer ;Project & misc .items.
On motion. of V.Cerveny 2nd H. Shakespeare , Mainten e gran given permission
to relocated gas pump to the SE corner of the maintence building. Carried
Resolution #41483 naming,, the Fairfax St,�te Savings Rank as Depository of
!, the City of Fairfax Funds., presented by R. Carver 2nd J. Fe iglu. Approved
Discussion held on the installation of a new type of alarm system in the
1 Lift station. The system would have the ca0abi.l:ites of ringing into
10 homes. 1k.siignation of which homes will be determrine,d later.
Flab Fredericks from Greeno-. Engineering advised council of his findings
when 500 feet of Sewer pipe was tele-�,i.sed in thy_ aseat whene same basements
received water. There is apparent infiltration of ground water from
basement the lines and a field the that is tapped directly into the
sanitary surer lire. A de- ci:6ion how to enforce the- ordinance on drain
tiles hooked into the sever system will be handled at a later date.
The field tale connection will be taker, out of the sewer line and fu-r they'
investigation of this field the line will be made.
Fasernent work in regard to the sewer expansion will continue. A schedule
of appointments will be set up and at least one councilmen will accompany
Mr Fredericks to obtain the easments.
C;itt? Clerk to notify Dicks tree service to remove and sturnp out the trees
on Church Street and Maier street that council approved at 4/7/93 council
meeting.
Councilperson N. Josifek report to council that she had talked to a nursery
in regard to a tree planting program. lie will be invited to the July or
_Auguat council mreeti.n� for further discussion.
Councilmen R. Carver made motion that Nancy Josifek and Vern Cerveny be
appointed as the Park and Tree committee to coordinate activies at the
Park and the tree plannin ;, program. Carried. City hall will be closed, 4/20,
4/21/a.nd 4/22 as City Clerk will be attending IM17DA meeting in Des Moines

A RESOLUTION SETTTNG 017T THE CHARGES FOR
EVERY CONSUMER OR PROSPECTIVE CONSUMER OF
WATER SERVI CF.
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLOVED, by the
City Council of Fairfax, Iowa, thatthere be
required from every consumer or prospective
consumer of water service a deposit of
$30.00, intended to guarantee the payment
of bills for service.

This resolution shall be in effect after its
approval and publication as provided by law.
