Minutes of the previous meeting approved and placed on file. Clerks report showed

Bob Levi, From la Ill Gas Co , attenkd council meeting to answer any questions about
their service and to inform council that theie will be a rate reduction effective
with next bills
Bob Frederickson, Green Engineering, explain to council the latest developements
in the sewer expansion project.
Scott McLeordi City Attorney, explained condemnation proceeds to the Council.
Councilmen Feight offered to again contact Mr. McCormick for further discussion
in regard to the sewer project. On motion of R. Carver 2nd N. Josifek, Councilmen
Feight to contact Mr McCormick for further talks on the matter. Carried, Rolleall
vote all Ayes detection
Motion by N. Josifek, 2nd H. Shakespeare , Sewer lines to be smoked for
of any infiltration of surface water into the mains- Carried. Roll Calivote all aYes.
Notice to be placed in September Water bills and notice to be sent to the C R Gazette
for publication in Sunday 9/11/83 paper advising citizens about the smoke testing.
K., 1. Selzer, Selzer Construction, advised council that he would like to start
planning Lakeside 2nd Addition but would like a commitment from council that they
would accept the dedication o sewer & water main, when addition is f the street,,,
finished. No action taken by council at this time.
On motion of H. Shakespeare 2nd J. Feight a new box for the dump truck to be
purchased from New Method Fquipment. Qrried roll calT vote
Discussion held on part of Ordinance Qjin regard to the & Pa -king restrictions
on park street between Front and Railroad. On motion of N. Josifek, 2nd J. Feight
amend ordinance 104 to read "No parking on West side of park street from Front
street to Railroad. Carried Roll call vote. Carver no, Josifek, Yes, ShakeMeare ,
yes, Feight yes , Cerveny absent.
Motion by N. josifik, Polh for the Regular election,to be held on November 9, 1983,
will be open from 7 AIM. to 8 P,M. 2nd R. Carver. Carried
Discussion on traffic count that is needed by Shive Hattery Enginners for the
Attrsection of 149, Losey & Prairie. The engineering cost will be handled tbrV,
the Iowa Dept of Transportation Engineering Assistance Program, but we must
furnish a person to do the actual count for a 12 hour period. Jim Feigbt made
motion to table this project. 2nd called for by Mayor, hearing none he declkred
motion died for lack of second. Carried. Roll call
A Josifek made motion to do traffic count 2nd R. Carver. Carr
vote Feight, yes , Carver, yes, Shakespeare , yes, Josifek, yes, Cerveny Absent.,
City Clerk volunteered 8 hours of the 12 so the city will only have to Pay
for some one for four hours.
Repairs to another Lift station taken under consideration. On motion of H. Shakespeare
2nd J. Faight,new valves and check valveito be ordered and installed. Carried All Ayes.
Discussion on recent repairs to fire truck, and information in reg6rd t o a "Au'taken tomn° ic
Watermaster" for dispensing bulk water.by a coin operated machine. No action
on either item.
on motion of J. Feight 2nd H. Shakespeare clerk given permission to attend the
League of Iowa Municipalities meeting in Des Moines September 21,22 & 23. Mayor
Stallmpn to sign creditial so she may vote at business meeting on Sept 23rd
Carried All voting Aye.
Bills approved for payment on motion of N. Josifek 2nd J. FUght. Carried
There being no further business meeting adjourned at 11:30 PM on motion of
H, Shakespewer 2nd A Feigbt. Carried
