tower inspection, cleaning & painting.
Purchase- of material to cover bottom of
tower ladder.
7 . Discussion with possible action on placing
'one side of street only parking*on Front
street from P'ark street east to end of street
8 . Permission for City Clerk to attend the
League of Iowa Municipalities meeting on
August 25,26 &27 in Cedar Rapids and for
Ron Dusil and possible one other person
to attend APWA Conference at Iowa State
October 9th. Permission also for :deputy
City Clerk to keep the office open the 25th,
26th & 27th of September
9 . Discussion with possible action on purchase
of fireproof safe and some type of -after houi
depository for water bill payments.

Regular meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held 9/5/85 at 7PM.
Mayor Feight presiding . Council present : Balog, Berryhill , Bullock,
Josifek and Zamastil present .
. Minutes of previous meeting approved on motion of Berryhill 2nd
Bullock . Carried .
Clerks financial and Budget report approved and placed on file .
Receipts to be accounted for : General Fund $5, 213 , 60 , RUT 2 , 285 . 51 ,
Debit Sery 51 . 08 , Revenue Sharing 112 . 19, Water dept 7 , 011 . 03 ,
Sewer dept 10, 797 . 61, 'total receipts , investments & balance to
be accounted for $336, 149 . 56
Minutes of Board of Review meeting held 8/2/85 read showing that they
granted a exception for a building permit for Bryan Otis .
Request of citizen that possible next year the whole city get involved
in having a "All City" Garage sales . This request to be forwarded
to the "YTT" committee .
Representatives from the LinnCounty Road dept to be invited to
attend the October Council meeting for further discussion of Sout:hview
Road and Cemetery Road .
Gin Motion of Berryhill 2nd Josifek the Larry Exlines to be given three
options on the refundi-ng of an overpayment of their water and sewer bill
I . All cash refund, 2 , z cash, 2 apply to future bills 3 . apply all to
future bills . All voting aye . Clerk to contact Exlines on this matter.
Resolution to be prepaired for October council meeting in regard to
setting a extra charge of $25 . 00 for all meters read because owners
did not return meter reading cards, at least every 6 months .
Clerk to send City Engineer current contract, for cleaning, painting &
inspection of water tower for his opinion, with the possiblity of asking
for quotes from different contractors for doing this type of work,. This
item to
be placed on the October adgenda.
On motion of Balog, 2nd Berryhill , R. Dusil to get price of materials
and cost of installing a covering on the lower section of the ladder
on the water tower . Carried .
City Clerk to contact residence of Front street from Park street
Fast to end of street in regard to one side of street parking in
this two block area, and ask for their opinion on this matter . This
item to be placed on October adgenda .
Permission for City Clerk to attend the League of Iowa Municipalities
meeting in Cedar ,Rapids on Sept 25, 26 , 27 , and for Betty Panek, Deputy
Clerk to keep CityHall open those days was granted and permission
for Ron Dusil to attend APWA Conference at Ia State on Oct 9th granted
by motion of Berryhill , 2nd Zamastil . Carried
Permission to purchase a. fire proof safe for $50. 00 was given on
motion of Berryhill 2nd Josifek. Carried
Permission to install some type of after hours depository and a
door bell (to aid the handicapped) at City Hall given on motion of
Josifek 2nd Bullock. Carried .
Items to be placed on October adgenda 1 . Running water to dug outs at
ballpark, 2 . City surrey, 3 . Dogs running at large in addition to
Previous mention items .
Motion to approve bills made by Zamastil 2nd Bullock.
