Regular meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held 8/7/86 . Mayor-Pro Tem
Ba.log Presiding in the absence of Mayor Peters . Council present : Bach,
Cerveny &,.Shakeaspeare. Absent Bullock .
Adgenda approved as posted on motion of Shakespeare 2nd Bach. Carried
Minutes of previous meeting, budget report & financial report approved
on motion of Bach, 2nd Shakespeare . Carried. �
Building permits approved for Iowa Electric Light & Bob Erger on motion i
of Cerveny 2nd Shakespeare . Carried
Resolution 8786 "Authorizing the Execution of Application and Agreement.
to ,loin the League of Iowa Municpalities Capital Improvement Finance
Program" presented and approved ;on motion of Shakespeare , 2nd Cerveny
Carried . Roll call vote. Ayes . Shakespeare , Bach, .Cerveny & Balog .
On Motion of Shakespeare, 2nd Cerveny, City Clerk to get quotes on
installation of "Hip" roof for Fire Station to be considered along
with the quotes recevied for installation of new flat roof . Carried
Discussion held in regard, to the possible installation of a new sewer
main to relief certain areas from possible back up in times of heavy
rains . City Clerk to contact City Engineer and have him included this
line, the storm sewer project, Lagoon and force main improvements in
one package for Council to consider for a G. O . Bond issue .
On emotion of Bach, 2nd Cerveny, City to accept the bid from New Method Equipment
for the purchase of new snow plow and attachments for $4,855.00 and the transfer
of dump body and attachments on new chasis in the amount of $1,342.00. Carried
Resolution 8786A "RUT report for fiscal 85/86"'" presented and approved
on emotion of Shakespeare, 2nd Bach . Carried on rollcall vote All ayes .
Oen °emotion of Cerveny, 2nd Bach, Mayor Peters to send letter to people
on Burger Lane in regard to Basketball Pole and to StarWest Cable about
antenna on Watertower. Carried
On emotion of Kay Bach, 2nd- V. Cerveny, City Clerk given permission
to attend Iowa League of Municipalities Convention in Des Moines on
September 24, 25, &26th as City of Fairfax delegate. CArried
Payment of bills approved on motion of Shakespeare, 2nd Cerveny Carried.
Motion to adjourn made at 9 : 30PM by Cerveny 2nd Shakespeare . Carried

Discussion held on a water problem on Losey Street . Clerk & Water
Superintendent given approve to order vales & pipe etc . that will
be needed to loop the water main on Losey & Prairie St . on motion
of Cerveny, 2nd Bach. Carried . All voting aye
Water Superintendent. advise Council of the need to have the Water Tower
Sandblasted and painted on the inside . On motion of Balog, 2nd Cerveny
Mayor to sign contract for the necessary work to be done by Western
