ADJOURNMENT. g:30 - 4,•30 Regular meeting of the Fairfax CityCouncil was held November 6, 1986 at 7PM. Mayor Charles Peters presiding. Council present, Shakespeare, Cerveny & Balog, Absent Each & Bullock. Minutes, financial. & budget reports approved on motion of Balog, 2nd Cerveney Carried. Receipts to be accounted for: General Fund $10,463.73, RITT fund $2,024.42, .Water fund: 2,122.90, Sewer Fund: $3,679.41,Garbage fees $1,676.00. Mr. Robert Zahn, attended meeting to discuss the recent backup of the sewer line into his basement. City to check into lowering again the float in Lift Station #3 so alarm will be set off earlier in case of emergencies. Discussion held on the possibility of limiting parking to the North side only of :Linn Street from Vanderbilt St to Fairfax road. On motion of Shakespeare, 2nd Balog City attorney to be contacted on liability of City if fire trucks could not get. through Linn Street with parking on bothew sides as is currently allowed. Carried All voting-Aye. Ordinance to be considered after Attorneys opinion is received. Representatives from Schultz Service (Waste disposal) ask the Council to allow them to bid on Garbage service for the City. Consensus of Council: Schultz to present a written 3year contract to Council at the December meeting, Barker also to present contract at that time. Final consideration of contract: will be made at the December I 4, 1986 meeting. Two bids were received on gravel truck chasis and snow plow. On motion of Cerveny 2nd Balog, Truck chasis and snow plow to be sold to Mick Heintz, Cedar Valley Asphalt for $1.735.00. Carried All voting aye. Discussion held on Sewer easements for new relief sewer line. City Attorney to check for correct names on easements, City Engineer to do soil borings in the area of the easements. Further report of progress to be given at December Counil meeting. Don DeMeulenaere approved for a 6 month probationary period on the Fire Department on motion of Cerveny 2nd Shakespeare. Carried On emotion of Cerveny, 2nd Balog, New ceiling the to be purchased for Council room. Carried. All voting aye. Resolution 11686 "License to &onstruct 8" sewer-line under the Chgo.,NW-:'Railroad Lille" on motion of Shakespeare, 2nd Cerveny. Carried. All voting Aye. On motion of Balog, 2nd Cerveny, City to finish payment of $1,150.00 to Chicago,. Northwestern Transportation Co for strip of land it formerly leased for the expansion of sewer lagoon. Carried. All voting aye. Bills approved for payment=on motion of Balog, 2nd Cerveny. Carried, All voting Aye. Motion to adjourn made at 9:20PIM by Balog, 2nd Cerveny. Carried.
