MR . JOE MORRISSEY
2 . DISCUSSION AND WORK SESSION ON COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN WITH MR., MIKE SINGER, EAST CENTRAL
IOWA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS .

'The Planning and Zoning Commission met on
Harover , Dean hartmna, Betty Panek , Sec . and, new
members ilom Martin and Ance Gaffney.
F'e . Joe 1�-Orrissey presented his request for
rezoning of 3outh part of Lots 3 &- 4, North 10 ft .
(Old Spice SDtore ) from C-1 to C-2 . Mr . korrissey
request tiis change so he can lease the property
to IVY, . 4ilson, owner of Pillow Talk, for the mfg .
of pillows , stadium cushions , etc . , and for the
storage of automobiles . Mr . Wilson uses 4 reg .
employees and would possibly employee J) parttime .
There was a discussion of replacing part of the front
with an overhead garage door .
Citizen present : Mr . & Mrs . James Duggan, Mr . &
Barnett and Lee Naaktgeboren. 'The residents were
concerned about the junked cars being brou,�;ht in
and what it would do to the area . The idea of a
mfg . plant to make pillows met with no objections ,
but the msed cars and overhead door were their
main concern. 'T'he qiiestion of granting R. non
conforming -use for C -1 was raised . Dean Hartman
made a mot-ion, seconded by �, ince Gaffney, that "the
request be tabled until the City Atty . could
study the issue of a non conforming use IVotion
was unanamous . Reeting was then closed .
