On motion of Bullock 2nd Svoboda, Cory Stockton approved as a probationary member of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Dept, and as the City representative to the Linn County Municipal Defense Committee. Carried . All voting aye . Two building permits for K. 0 . Selzer was approved on motion of Nading 2nd Quillin. Carried. Discussion held in regard to certain paved streets in the north section of the City that will need replacement and repair. On motion of Nading 2nd Svoboda, City Clerk to contact several companies for price to temporarily fix damaged area on Prairie Avenue. Carried. All voting aye . Resolution 8889A "Assessment for water Line in Selzers 3rd, 4th& 5th Addition" presented by Nading with the stipulation that paragraph B & C be removed and resolution revised accordingly . 2nd Quillin. Carried. Voting Aye Bullock, Cerveny, Nading, Svoboda, Quillin. NaysNone Resolution 8889B "Permission for City Clerk to sign release and satisfaction of lein forms" , :2nd : Quillin. Carried.. All voting Aye Complaint received in regard to maintence of certain property on Park Street . Councilmember Nading offered to look into the matter . On motion of Bullock, 2nd Quillin, Tennis Service of Iowa to repair the two tennis courts . Carried . All voting aye . On motion of Svoboda, 2nd Quillin, Bills as presented except Fire Dept bill for flowers (It is to be taken out of their special account) approved. All voting Aye Discussion held on 5year Goals & Objectives . Main topic was a possible. 500 per $1, 000 valuation tax to be put in the 1990/1991 budget for a j street improvement fund for the paving, curb & storm sewer of the main through streets and park facilities on the north side of the city.
