Regular meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held 1/8/ 91 at 7 : O0PM.
Mayor Nading presiding .. Council present : Bullock, Cerveny, Quilling
Stockton. Hastings Absent .
Minutes of previous meeting, budget & financial reports approved on
motion of Cerveny, 2nd Stockton. Carried .
Mr . Joe Gase, Iowa Illinois Gas Co, visited with the Council about
their service to the city.
4r . John Stokesberry and Leonard Davis , Starwest Cable Co . advised
Council that they plan on adding six new channels to the basic service
on approximately March 1 . The monthly cost will increase from $11 . 96
to $15 . 60 per month, Showtime will remain as an extra charge of $10. 00
per month . Letters will sent out to all cable subscribers outlining
these changes .
Discussion held on new zoning ordinance . A date for a public hearing
on the ordinance will be set at the February meeting for sometime in
March.
Building permit for a garage addition at 508 ]Front street was issued
to K. O . Selzer on motion of Bullock, 2nd Stockton. Carried .
Resolution 1891 "REPLACING STREET LIGHT FIXTURES" presented on motion
of Stockton, 2nd Cerveny. Carried . All voting aye .
Resoltuion 1891A "RELEASE OF WATER & SEWER A'SSESSMEN'T' ON LOT 6
SE]LZERS LAKESIDE 3RD ADD. " presented on motton of Cerveny, 2nd Bullock
Carried . All voting aye .
Discussion held on street improvements on Church and Vanderbilt street
City Engineer to be contactedin this regard . Further discussion at
February meeting in regard to special assessment cost-curb & gutter
and possible sidewalk-set date for public hearing on project also
at February meeting .
Bills presented for payment approved on motion of Stockton, 2nd Quillin
Carried . All voting aye.
Motion to approve change orders on Library construction made by
Cerveny 2nd Stockton . Carried . All voting aye .
Mr. Charles Buckingham inquired of council if a better job of snow
removal could be done our the corner of Nickolet and Front St . Council
looked over his drawings and suggestions and will discuss it further
with maintence Supt .
Discussion held in regard to budget work sessions .
Motion to adjourn made at 8 : 30PM by Quillin, 2nd Bullock. Carried .
