The Regular meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held at 7 : OOPM
on 7/9/91 . Mayor Nading presiding. Council present : Bullock, Cerveny
Hastings , Quillin & Stockton.
Motion to approve budget and financial reports made by Cerveny,
2nd Bullock. Carried. All voting aye .
Resolution 7991 "Approval of RUT report" was introduced by
Cerveny, 2nd Quillin. Carried. All voting Aye
Aim Matta, Hall Engineering, present Council with estimate of cost
to extend water main across highway to the McNamara property.
City Clerk instructed to forward copy to Mr. David McNamara .
Discussion also held on water quality problem on Losey Avenue .
Further cost of this project will be handled at the August meeting.
Discussion held with those in attendance at the meeting in regard
to the 1991 Street Project that was voted down at the Special
Council meeting held on 7/9/91 .
On motion of Cerveny, 2nd Hastings , Mayor Nading given authority
to appoint a Citizens committee of six and one representative from
the City Council . Mayor Nading appointed Tien Quillin as Council
representative and the following, who were in attendance at the
meeting, Mrs Sherry Collingwood, Mr. Don Share, Mrs Evelyn Miller.
Mayor Nading will appoint three more citizens to the committe
during this week. This committee will meet to try and solve the
curb, gutter and street problems . A City wide meeting will be
held at the Legion Hall later this fall for a full dicussion
of the problem.
Discussion was held in regard to a building located on Vanderbilt
and Railroad that is in need of repair and cleanup . On motion of
Stockton, 2nd Cerveny, Mayor Nading to write letter to owner of
property giving him 30 days to comply with the City request .
Carried . All voting aye.
Brief dicussion was held in regard to the Seat Belt and Speed j
tickets that were given by the Linn County Sheriffs Dept on I
Highway 151 .
Brief discussion held on Recycling of items to reduce our tonnage
at the Landfill .
Bills presented for payment were approved on motion of Quillin,
2nd Hastings . Carried.
Discussion held in regard to the removal of the city' s underground
gas tank and replacement of same . On motion of Stockton, 2nd Cerveny
City Clerk to proceed with the process with aims Petroleum and obtain
to obtain prices to replace the present tank.
Motion to adjourn was made at 8 : 35PM by Quillin, 2nd Stockton.
Carried. All voting aye .
