'The Regular Meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held on July
7 , 1992 at 7 : 00 P .M. Mayor Nading presiding. Council present , Peters .,
Quillin, Sheely, and Cerveny.

Motion by Quillin, 2nd Sheely to approve the Agenda , Minutes of
previous meeting, Budget and Financial Reports . Carried .
Motion of Cerveny, 2nid Peters , that Maintanence Man may go to a
Woorkshop on July 15th, if Assistant Maintanence Man is available to
cower the City. Carried .
the next Agenda item was the appointment of a Council person to fill
the term of Kathy Bullock. Their were 4 persons interested . Motion of
Peters, 2nd Sheely that Mark Neuhaus be appointed . After some discussion
Mark Neuhaus was appointed to serve till the election. Carried .
Mark was then sworn in by Mayor Nading .
Peters gave the report on the Recycling, they recommend that the
City go to curbside pickup on a weekly basis . Each household will be
given a container, sticker will be purchased for regular garbage ..
There will be information sent to each household, and a town meeting
will be held before the actual recycling starts . A big Thank you goes
to the Committee for the hours they have donated to getting the
recycling started . The Committee : Mary Ann Peters , Ken Quillin, Steve I
Selzer, Cory Stockton, Erin Balog and Kathy Bullock.
Motion by Sheely, 2nd. Quillin to approve a building permit for
Keith Sankot to erect a new garage . Carried . Motion by Cerveny, 2nd
Sheely to approve a -building permit for John 2amastil to put an
addition on his house . Carried .
Doug Exline attended the Fire Marshall school , They will go with the
j Maintanence Man and check for all things that need to be corrected,
around the City.
Linda Balog gave the Council a report on the Library. The Clerk was
instructed to send a copy of a contract to Walford for Library Services
for the coming year .
Cerveny gave a report on his talk with Dwight Hughes on the new
park on the North side of Fairfax. Vernon was to contact Laurie Hawks
and have her draw up a plan for the development of the new park. He is
also going to apply for a grant from Trees Forever .
Motion by Cerveny, 2nd Sheely to contact Private Tree Service to
remove a dead tree on Church Street . Carried . Motion Peters , 2nd
Neuhaus that the home owner may plant a new twee to replace the old one .
Motion by Cerveny, 2nd Sheely to purchase a Word proccessor for the
City. Carried .
The Clerk was instructed to write the owner of the barking dogs that
they appreciate his efforts in keeping the dogs quiet, and hope this
will continue .
Motion by Peters , 2nd Sheely that Teressa George , Russ Carver and Mark
Sheely will go around town and recommend which streets to put parking
on only one side , and which side of the street it will go on.

We the undersigned, being first duly sworn state that we are
the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Fairfax, Iowa. We are
familiar with a Memorandum of Agreement between the. City of
Fairfax, Iowa and Kenneth O. Selzer and Mary Catherine Selzer and
Iowa Fund, Inca recorded July 20 , 1987 in Volume 2028 , Page 224 .
Said Agreement provided for the transfer of "All land from the
Hamilton Property East to the property line of the City, and from
the North edge of the proposed extension of Front Street and the
North edge of Lot 21 North to owner' s existing property line. "
Said property has been conveyed to the City of Fairfax by Quit
Claim Deed in Volume 1942 , :image 47 . Said property does not lie in
Selzer" s Lakeside Fourth Addition to Fairfax, Iowa.
We further state that all improvements required by the
aforedescribed Memorandum of Agreement by the Owners have been
erfcrmed in full. Consequently, thez.:e is no impediment to the
platting of Selzer"s Lakeside Fourth A dit n 0 Fairfax, Iowa.
