Regular meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held Tuesday
October 13 , 1992 at 7 : 00 P . M. Mayor Nading presiding . Council
present : Quillin, Peters , Sheely and Neuhaus . Absent : Cerveny.
Motion of Peters , 2nd Neuhaus the Agenda, minutes of previous meeting,
budget and financial reports were approved ...
The Libraian was present to explain the possibility of a 5% cut
in County funding, and where the cuts might come from. The Library
Board will meet on November 3rd .
Discussion with the Maintenance Dept followed . Lud will be going to
the AWWA and Iowa Water Polution Meetings . Motion by Neuhaus ,
2nd Sheely . MC . We will have to purchase a new humidifier for city
h-all , and check into fumigating the lab area . On October 16 there
will be 10-13 Students from Prairie High School in Fairfax to
do some service work . They will be painting the pump house , and
some storm sewer covers .
Motion Quillin, 2nd Sheely, Resolution 101392 was approved, releasing
the lein on Selzer ' s Lakeside Third Addition, Lot # 1 . Motion of
Neuhaus , 2nd Peters , the leins on the remaining Lot in the Third
addition #2 , and Lots 1, 3 , 4, 5 , 6 , & 7 in Selzer ' s Lakeside
Fourth Addition be release upon payment of the leins . MC .
Mr . Selzer made a request to change the parking on his oxginial
building permit from the West side of the building to the east side
and the north side . Due to the wideing of the Viaduct he was forced
to move the parking, motion of Peters , 2nd Quillin to allow the
change . MC . Mayor Nading is write a letter of occupancy for the
S plea .
No appointment for the vacancy on the Board of Review.
Motion of Sheely, 2nd Neuhaus the appointments of Dan Shakespeare ,
K . C . Waychoff and Pat Slater to the Fire Department , and the

resignation of Jeff Seltzer and Craig Dostal was approved .
Discussion followed on the following items : Any requests for information
from the City Engineer will be paid by the person requesting the
information . we have received another grant for Trees Forever
project from Iowa-Illinois Gas , a big thank you to Vernon Cerveny
for his work on getting the grant . Garbage pickup for Christmas and
New Years will be on the thursday before . Mr . Nading will talk to
Rustfree Auto about the location of their sign on the corner of
Church St . and Highway 151 . Motion of Peters , 2nd Sheely Mr . Selzer
was given permission to contract with a private hauler for thegarbage
for the 8-plea . Carried .
