The Fairfax City Council meeting was held March 9 , 1993 at 70
P.M. Mayor Nading presiding, with Councilmen Cerveny, Neuhaus and
Sheely present . Absent Quillin and Peters .
Motion of Neuhaus, 2nd Cerveny to approve the agenda, previous
minutes , gadget and 'Financial Reports. MC
Motion of Cerveny, 2nd Neuhaus to approve a building permit for
Brophy to build a garage , if the new garage does not take up more
than 30 % of the back yard. Land will check to make sure they are in
compliance with the city ordinance. MC.
Maintenance reports: The trees along Fairfax road are to be
removed. The clerk will send letters to all owners of old vehicles ,
parked in front yards, that if they are not current on registration
they will have seven ( 7 ) days to remove them before any further
action will be taken,. Beginning ,Maly 1st, the maintenance man will
purchase his oven uniforms up to $315 . 00 per year, with receipts
turned in for payment. City wide cleanup days was tentatively set
for May 15th.
The annexation of Dan Shakespeare was tabled until the April
Meeting, so he can be there to answer the questions of the Council.
Motion of Cerveny, 2nd Sheely to approve the appointment of Dave
Y'anecek to the Fairfax Fire Department. MC
Motion of Cerveny, 2nd Sheely to approve the contract with
Western Tank and Tower Co. for tower maintanence for a 5 yr.
period. MC
Motion of Neuhaus, 2nd Sheely to remove Russ Carves from the
Sewer alarm phone effective March 1st. MC
Motion of Cerveny, 2nd Neuhaus the clerk was given permission to
attend I .M. F .®.A. meeting April 21-23 . M
Report from Cerveny on the Pancake Breakfast held march 7th.
Receipts to date were $944 . 00 . The proceeds will purchase trees for
the City of Fairfax. A BIG Thanks to Vernon Cerveny and the F.A.T.
Committee for all their work.
Don Murphy and George Martin were in attendance to discuss the
possible development of the land on Linn Street . There was concern
voiced over the overloading of the existing sewer lines and the #1
lift station. The Mayor will check into possible funding for
installing a new sewer line and lift station.
Motion of Cerveny, 2nd Sheely to approve bills presented for
payment . MC
