Mayor Sheely opened the meeting at 7 : 05 p . m. , with Council. memebers Neuhaus , Shakespeare and Wainwright . Stallman and Root Absent . Motion by Wainwright, 2nd Neuhaus to approve the Agenda , Minutes of the April meeting, Budget and Financial.. Reports . MC. Nothing for Lt . Hanley from the Linn County Sheriff ' s Dept , Kathy Waychoff , Library Board , presented "Give a Gift" program for the Library. For further information contact the Library . Maintenance report .; Motion by Neuhaus , 2nd Wainwright to contact. Dennis Cech to clean the ditch on West Cemetery Rd . MC . The grounds around the ball diamonds will be mowed with the big tractor to save time . A letter will be sent to the Baseball Assoc , about the burning at the concession stand . No more burning , Wainwright will get some further quotes on extending the Storm Sewer on Vanderbilt from Linn to Church and will be discussed at the June Meeting , Pat Slater gave a report on USA day, July al.st . Moon Walk will be rented for the day, and local merchants will be contacted for donations . A detail of events will be sent out in early ,Tune . Mike Sankot , Fire Chief , explained about funds from the B911 board and what the fire department thought were some priorities . Mike will become the Alternate to the Board . Mike also explained that the Fire Department will have to purchase some new Air Packs , as theirs are outdated. The Defibulator has been ordered . Motion by Shakespeare , 2nd Neuhaus to approve the Building permit for James and Deanna Philipp for a sheltered porch on the rear of their residence . MC . Two written complaints Were received . Letter will be sent To the Ray residence about cleaning tip their yard . They will be giveia 30 days to comply or the o"° _ty will clean it up and charge them ior the time . Letter will be sent to Robert Hudson about his barking dog. Motion by Neuhaus , 2nd Wainwright to approve the bills presented. for payment . MC. Discussed : Dick Zenisek asked about the water & garbage increases . Cleaning the ditches and culverts on Southview Rd ,. Crandic cleaning their ditches . Call Liz Jacobi about Blue Stem update . The purpose of this program is to increase the number of hooks and videos- available to the patrons of the Fairfax Library. Any donations will help to offset city funding of our Library. Donations to this program may be made at any time. You may wish to donate the entire cost of a book or video; or you may make a donation of any amount . We ask a minimum donation of $1 .001 . When enough funds from partial donations have been received, the book or video will be purchased. At the time the book or video is received, a donation plate will be attached to the book or video, naming both the donor and to whom it may be dedicated. There are many different ways you may choose to use the GIVE-A-GIFT Program. some of these include: To honor a birthday To honor a wedding/anniversary To honor a family member As a memorial To remember a special holiday Currently, prices of hardcover books average around $25 .00 . Videos are purchased for approximately $20 .00 . We can get a better price for these items if the Library orders them because some suppliers will offer a discount. If you wish to participate in this program, please fill in the information at the bottom of this sheet and enclose your donation... Any questions may be referred to Linda or Nancy at the Library. Unless a vehicle is currently Licensed it is considered a junk vehicle and are not allowed according to the Ordinances of the City. We have garbage pickup weekly, so there is no reason for garbage to be piled in your yard. Yard waste is pickup the first and third Tuesdays of each month from May to October . You are given thiry ( 30 ) days to clean up your yard , or the city will send someone in to clean it up and bill you .
