CITY OF FAIRFAX
The Fairfax City Council met on Tuesday November 14, 1995. Mayor
Sheely opened the meeting at 7 : 01 p.m. Council present Stallman,
Shakespeare and Neuhaus. Wainwright arrived at 7 : 03 p.m. Absent
Root .
Two students from Praire High School were in attendance for a
Government Class.
Motion by Neuhaus to approve the Agenda, Minutes of the October
Meeting, Clerk' s Budget and Financial Reports. 2nd Shakespeare . MC.
Sgt . Cline, Linn Co. Sheriff , attended. An order to tow a
vehicle at 304 Reynolds was issued. Discussion on the vandalism at
306 Main St.
Building Permits : Motion by Shakespeare , 2nd Stallman to approve
the permit for Myron Lown, Inc. , a single family home . Motion by
Stallman, 2nd Shakespeare to approve the permit for Darren Coppess
for open porch on front of house . Motion by Wainwright, 2nd
Shakespeare to approve the permit for Rust Free -- Larry Schulte for
a new building. MC..
Fire Dept . - Discussion with the Fire Chief on burning permits
within the City limits of Fairfax. Each request for a permit within
the City will be monitored by the Fire Department, and they will
judge whether to issue the permit. Chief Sankot explained his
discussion with the Walford Council, and the progress on the new
rescue truck. Bill Barry, emergency management rep. from Fairfax,
discussed the possibility of setting up emergency shelters in
Fairfax .
Councilmembers Wainwright and Shakespeare will see about getting
some additional Christmas Decorations .
Motion by Neuhaus to approve the bills presented for payment ,
2nd Shakespeare . MC.
At the request of Neuhaus a letter will be sent to the D.O»T.
requesting a traffic survey for lowering the speed limits thru
Fairfax , starting at 80th Street to St . Patrick' s Road.
Discussion with the City and Maintenance Staff . The Staff will
do an evaluation periodically.
Motion by Stallman to adjourn at 8 : 55 p.m. 2nd Shakespeare , MC.
