Reappointment of the following. Mayor - Pro Tem, City Clerk, Fire Chief , City Attorney, City Engineer . ( 2 year term. ) Ralph Emanuel to Board of Adjustment, Ken Selzer and Terry Johnson to Planning and Zoning Commmission, ( 5 Year Terms ) . Library Board - Berniece Kleppe , Maxine Meeks , and Shirley Lowe. ( 6 Year Term) . 5 . Fire Department . 6 . Emergency Management . - Bill Barry. 7 . ,junk Vehicles around town. 8. Street Light Resolution - New light on Hwy 151 and Wms . Blvd. Discussion on lights on East Cemetery Rd. 9 . Library Report , 10 . Bills presented for payment . 11 . Opportunity for citizens not on the agenda. 12 . Adjournment. CITY OF FAIRFAX. The Fairfax City Council met on Tuesday January 9 , 1996 . Mayor Sheely called the meeting to order at 7 : 00 p.m. Council present, Stallman, Neuhaus , Harville and Wainwright. Absent Shakespeare. Bill Barry, Emergency Managment Rep . and student Whitney Frame in attendance . Motion by Neuhaus to approve the Agenda, Minutes of the December meeting, clerk' s Budget and Financial Reports. 2nd. Stallman. MC. Discussion with Svoboda, Maintenance, on a new pickup for the City. Wainwright will check further . Motion by Stallman, 2nd Neuhaus to reappoint the following to two( 2 ) terms : City Clerk, Betty Panek, Mayor Pro-Tem - Mark Neuhaus , Fire Chief, Mike Sankot , City Attorney, Scott McLeod . The following to 5 year terms : Ralph Emanuel - Board of Adjustment, den Selzer and Terry Johnson to Planning and Zoning. The following to 6 year terms on the Library Board: Berniece Kleppe, Maxine Meeks and Shirley Lowe . The decision on the City Engineer was tabled until the February Meeting. Sgt . Mike Cline, Sheriff ' s dept . , had nothing for the City. Fire Chief explained what he had learned at the Walford Council meeting. Walford will pay the same rate as the City of Fairfax for Fire Protection. Discussion on expanding the existing building. Bill Barry said that the City share for emergency management will be $700 . 00 . The city Clerk will check with the City Attorney on the speed of trains through Fairfax , and length of time they may sit and idle by the crossing. Letters will be sent to all owners of vehicles parked in town that are not currently licensed. They will have the opportunity to come to the February Council meeting to express the views , if they do not, it will turned over to the sheriff ' s department to remove them. Motion by Neuhaus, 2nd Wainwright to approve Street Light Resolution 010996 , new light at the intersection of Hwy 151 and E66 . MC . Motion by Harville to get Linn Co REC to evaluate how many street lights they, would recommend for East Cemetery Rd, 2nd Neuhaus . MC . Motion by Wainwright , 2nd Stallman to pay the bills presented. MC. Discussion on the possibilty of annexation to the North of the City and what can be done about a half finished home that is being occupied .
