Approval of the Agenda, Minutes of March 12th Council Meeting, Clerk' s Budget and Financial Reports ., 2 . Sheriff ' s Department . 3 . Building Permits : Reggie Hastings - addition to Garage. Joe Neuhaus - Single Family Home . Myron Lown - 2 Single Family Homes . Ken Barnell, Jr . - Shed 4 . Pete Layden -- Davis, Jones , Lamb Insurance . 5 . Pat Slater - Fairfax USA Days , June 29th. 6 . Water Meter -- Star Hotel 7 . Park on Front ;Street - Vern Cerveny and Ron Stallman. 8. Lee King, Union Pacfic Railroad, Kevin Burke , Crandic and Frank Pippy, engineer . 9 . Fire Department - New member , change in By-Laws , Fireworks . 10. Maintenance Report - Yard Waste Pickup, Estimate on spraying the Ball Diamonds , 11 . Bills presented for payment . 12 . Opportunity for Citizens not on the agenda. 13 . Adjournment . CITY OF FAIRFA3 The Fairfax City Council met on Tuesday April 9 , 1996 , at the Fairfax Legion Hall . Mayor Sheely called the meeting to order at 7 : 10 p.m. Roll call all council present . Motion by Neuhaus ,, 2nd Stallman to approve the Agenda, Minutes of the March meeting', Clerk' s Budget and Financial Reports . MC.. The following Building Permits were approved: ,Motion Neuhaus, 2nd Stallman, Reggie Hastings, addition to Garage . Motion Stallman, 2nd Harville, Single family home for Joe Neuhaus . Motion Neuhaus , 2nd Wainwright, two permits for Myron Lawn for Single Family Homes , and Motion Neuhaus, 2nd Stallman, Kenny Barnell , for a shed. Sheriff Zeller and Maj . Kolz took complaints from citizens about issuing tickets for running stop signs and parking in prohibited zones . Also complaints of 4- wheelers around town. Pete Layden, Davis, Jones , Lamb Insurance explained his views on his removal as Insurance Agent for the City. After some discussion Haville made the motion to stay the course of the Council decision in March to switch Agents, 2nd Shakespeare . MC.. Pat Slater, Fairfax USA Days Chairman, reviewed the plans for the USA Days planned for June 29th. , He requested from the City $641 . 83 to help defray some of the expenses . Motion by Neuhaus , 2nd Shakespeare to approve the money. The Fireworks will also be on June 29th. Park on Front Street : Vernon Cerveny presented a request for something to be done on the Park. The Council said for them to bring some type of plan to the May Council Meeting, and the City would be willing to work with them. Vernon asked anyone interested to please ,leave their name with him. Railroad: Lee King, Union Pacific, Kevin Burke , Crandic and Frank TiPPy, Project Engineer , Union Pacific presented the plans for a railroad spur to a packed house at the Legion. After their presentation it was opened up for questions . After about an hour and half discussion was ended. Fire Chief Sankot requested the Council to change the By-laws of the Fire Department. Motion by Wainwright, 2nd Neuhaus to expand the Fairfax Fire Department from 25 members to 30 members . MC . Motion by Wainwright, 2nd Neuhaus to reinstate Joel Zabokrtsky to the Fire Department pending approval at the next Fire Meeting . MC. Maintenance report: Clean up day will held Saturday June 1st, from 8 : 00 a. m. to 4 : 00 p.m. in the lagoon area. Yard Waste pickup will be on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, have yard waste out by 7 : 00 a.m. The first pickup will be on Tuesday April 23rd. Motion by Stallman, 2nd Wainwright to approve the bid on sparying at the Ball Diamond from Culver ' s Lawn Care , MC. Motion by Wainwright , 2nd Neuhaus to order the Snowplow and 2 tool boxes for the new pickup . MC . Motion by Neuhaus, 2nd Wainwright to approve the bills presented for payment . MC. Reggie Hastings will be a facilitator between the Council and citizens committee in regard to the railroad spur . Committee to be appointed this month , Motion by Neuhaus , 2nd Wainwright to adjourn at 10 : 20 p .m. P Mark E .
