CITY OF FAIRFA
The Fairfax City Council met on Tuesday August 13 , 1996 at 7' : 00
p.m. Mayor Sheely called the meeting to order with Council members
Stallman, Wainwright, Shakespeare , Harville and Neuhaus present .
Harville left at 8 : 07 p.m.
Motion by Wainwright, 2nd Stallman to approve the Agenda, Minutes
of July 9th meeting, Clerk' s Budget and Financial Reports . MC.
Sheriff ' s Deputy Sgt . Rusk handed in the monthly report . There
was discussion on curfew, parking violations and the vandalism in
town. A copy of the curfew ordinance will be sent to the Sheriff ' s
department .
Discussion on the ditch cleaning on Church Street . Residents were
assured that the culverts will be cleaned and the ditch seeded. 'The
seeding will be done later in the year . Terry Johnson requested the
ditch on W. Cemetery be cleaned. The City will check for fall and
see what needs to be done .
Building Permits : Motion by Neuhaus , 2'nd Harville to approve the
permit for Mike Evans for an addition to his house and a garage .
MC. Motion by Neuhaus, 2nd Stallman to approve the permit for Kathy
Chapman for a storage shed. MC.
Motion by Shakespeare to reinstate Tad Andrle to the Fire
Department. MC.
Motion by Wainwright , 2nd Shakespeare to approve the RUT Annual
Report. MC.
Motion By Shakespeare , 2nd Stallman to approve the Handi Mart
Beer Renewal permit . MC.
Maintenance Report; Motion by Wainwright, 2nd Shakespeare to
approve the bid from Great Plains for the new Lift Station
building. MC.
Discussion on the following ,items : The Newsletter , sanding Linn
Street, possibility of putting a fire hydrant on a well on the
North Side of Prairie Creek. Putting a catch basin on the culvert
by the Church.
Motion by Wainwright, 2nd Neuhaus to approve the bills presented .

Motion by Shakespeare, 2nd Wainwright to adjourn at 8 . 40 p.m..
