Payment of bills presented. 16 . Adjournment CITY OF FAIRFA City Council Meeting January 12 , 1999 Mayor Protem Wainwright called the meeting to order at 7 : 01 p.m. Council present: Beer, Stockton. Absent : Mayor Stallma'n, Council members Harville and Shakespeare . Stockton moved the approval of the agenda, minutes of the December 8th council meeting, clerk' s budget and financial reports . 2nd Beer. MC Motion Wainwright, 2nd Stockton to table the renewal of the Sanitation contract until the February Council Meeting. The clerk will contact other sanitation haulers for quotes . MC . Vernon Cerveny, F .A. T. , explained that they had received a Trees Grant , and requested that the City contribute $250 , 00 to match the tree Grant . Motion Wainwright to approve the request , 2nd Stockton. Mr . Cerveny also discussed the possibility of putting electricity to the trees , when planted along Vanderbilt St . , so they could be lighted at Christmas. RESOLUTION 99-01-12 , Placing Plans , Specifications , Form of Contract and Estimated Cost on File , and Direct the Publication of the Notice to Bidders and Set up the Public Hearing on Well Construction. Motion Beer, 2nd Wainwright to approve the Resolution. MC. Sgt . Carol Curran presented the Sheriff ' s report . Motion Stockton, 2nd Beer to approve the Sheriff' s Contract for the F/Y 99-2000 , 19 hrs per week. MC . Motion Beer, 2nd Stockton to approve the building permit for Banes Construction, to construct buildings at 98 W. Cemetery Rd. MC. Steve Clark discussed the ditches along E . Cemetery & 80th St . The City Engineer will investigate, and see what the City should do. The Libraian gave her report . Maintenance report . Dog tags will still be necessary in Fairfax. They may be purchased at City Hall . Discussion on snow removal from sidewalks, roadways , the budget, building permits, and zoning, trees and speed limits . Motion Wainwright, 2nd Beer to approve the request from Schmitt Construction for payment #1 . MC. Motion Wainwright , 2nd Stockton to pay the bills presented. MC.
