Board of Adjustment Meeting
March 13,2000
The Board of Adjustment met on Monday,March 13,2000 at 5:30 PM at Fairfax City Hall. Members
present were: Ray Zamastil,Randy Price,Doug Exline,David Everett and]Bryan Balog. Also present was
Pat Reisinger.
The order of business was to rule on granting or not granting a Building Variance to Mr.Reisinger for the
construction of a new deck on the back of his residence at 110 Nickolet Street.The size of his lot and
position of his house on the lot,leave 19ft from the back of the house to the rear lot line.Current code
requires 25ft.The old deck was 12 ft.deep and 15 ft.wide. Mr Reisinger"s request is to replace his current
deck with one that was 14 ft.deep and 20 wide. A lot layout was provided_
The fact that if the deck was replaced at it's present depth of 12 ft the deck would still not meet current -
code was discussed. The new deck would be 5R. from the back lot line instead of 7 ft..The yard is
enclosed with a privacy fence. Mr.Reisinger was asked if any of his neighbors had objections to his deck.
No one else was present at the meeting to voice any objections. Mr.Reisinger stated that his neighbors
were helping him with the removal of the old deck and the construction of the new deck. The new width of
the deck would not extend beyond the house. -
A motion was made by Ray Zamastil,and second by Doug Extine to Approve a variance for Pat
Reisinger's deck. The motion was passed with a unanimous vote.
Randy Price motioned,seconders by Ray Zamastil to adjourn the meeting 5:50 PM
