Mayor Voss called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council roll call,Beer, Scott, Shakespeare

Pursuant to the meeting of the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa,
on May 9, 2000, the City of Fairfax does hereby defer construction
of a sidewalk along the north end of Lot 10, Fairfax Heights First
Addition - Fairfax, Iowa, and the undersigned, Patrick Slater,
does hereby agree to construct the sidewalk upon receipt of the
request of the City of Fairfax after receiving reasonable notice
from the City.

RESOLUTION ADOPTING PLANS,SPECIFICATIONS,,FORM OF
CONTRACT AND ESTIMATED COST FOR THE 2000 UPPER WELL &WELL HOUSE
PROJECT
WHEREAS,on the f-{U, day of June,2000 plans, specifications,form of contract and
estimated cost were filed with the Clerk of Fairfax,Iowa for the construction of the 2000 Upper
Well&Well House Project within the corporate limits.
WHEREAS,notice of hearing on plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated
cost was published as required by law.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, IOWA.
That the said plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost are hereby
approved as the plans, specifications,form of contract and estimated cost for said improvements
for said project.
PASSED AND APPROVED THE 13TH DAY OF JUNE, 2000.

RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONTRACT
2000 UPPER WELL & WELL HOUSE PROJECT
FAIRFAX, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX,
IOWA.
That the bid of Swig Construction of Walford,Iowa,in the amount of
$114,656.38, for the construction of the 2000 Upper Well&:Well House Project,
described in the plans and specifications hereto fore adopted by this Council after public
hearing, be and is hereby accepted, as the lowest responsible bid received, and a contract
is hereby awarded.
The contractor is hereby instructed to promptly execute the construction contract
and return the same to the City Clerk along with all the supporting documents required
therein, including surety bond covering work to be performed and proof of satisfactory
insurance coverage.
That the City Clerk, with the assistance of the Consulting Engineer is thereafter
directed to examine the contract for proper execution and all supporting documents,
including surety bond and proof of insurance coverage to determine satisfactory
compliance with contract specifications, If all documents are in order the City Cleric
shall approve the same in writing and place written approval on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
That the Mayor and City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to
execute the contract for and on behalf of the City and upon execution the contract shall be
in full force and effect.

AN ORDINANCE AAMNDING TITLE u,CHAPTER 2,SECTION 2.1-2.4411&
2.1-2.0412 OF THE CITY CODE OF FAIRFAX,IOWA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF FAIRFAX,IOWA.
Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Title Il,Chapter 2,Section 2.1-
2.0411 and 2.1-2.0412 of the City code of Fairfax,Iowa.
Section 2. Section 2.I-2.0411,of Title I1,Chapter 2, City Code of Fairfax,is repealed and the
following is adopted in lieu thereof-
2.1-2.0411 SPECIAL 45 NTH SPEED ZONES. A speed in excess of forty-five(45)miles per
hour shall be unlawful on the following:
1. Iowa Highway 151,5670'+or-,from station 733,+or-,to 11800',+or-, South of Church
Street.
2.1-2.0412 SPECIAL 50 MPH SPEED ZONES.A speed in excess of fifth(50)miles per hour
shall be unlawful on the following;;
1. Iowa Highway 151, 1050',+or-,from station 733,+or-,to station 743 +50,+or-,
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Severability.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged
Invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any
section,provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,
Section 5.This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage,approval and
publication as provided by law.
